Some embodiments include an inspection system, comprising: a radiation source; a radiation detector including an imaging array; a support structure configured to maintain a spatial relationship between the radiation source and the radiation detector; a motion control system configured to move an object relative to the radiation detector; control logic configured to: control the motion control system to move the object relative to the radiation detector; and combine data from multiple frames from the radiation detector as the object moves relative to the radiation detector into a single image.

Inspection system

Some embodiments include a radiographic inspection system, comprising: a drive mechanism configured to move along a structure; a detector attached to the drive mechanism; a radiation source attached to the drive mechanism and positionable relative to the detector such that a width of the structure casts a radiation shadow on an active area of the detector; and control logic coupled to the detector and configured to: receive an image from the detector; generate side wall loss information based on the image; and generate bottom wall loss information based on the image.

Some embodiments include a radiographic inspection system, comprising: a detector; a support configured to attach the detector to a structure such that the detector is movable around the structure; a radioisotope collimator; and a collimator support arm coupling the detector to the radioisotope collimator such that the radioisotope collimator moves with the detector.

Radiographic inspection system for pipes and other structures using radioisotopes

A Computed Tomography (CT) system can be deployed by subsea vehicles such as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) or by divers to perform CT inspections on a subsea structure. In embodiments, a marinized signal source and a marinized flat panel signal detector are positioned at a structure to be inspected subsea and possibly repositioned at different angles about the structure to acquire a series of 2D radiographic images which are then fed to a reconstruction algorithm that produces a 3D reconstructed volume of the structure being inspected.

An inspection system may be deployed as part of a routine crew transfer diving ('CTV') or service operation vessel (SOV) deployment to perform inspections for analyses which can be conducted while carrying out other inspection tasks. A marinized digital detector array and betatron source may be maneuvered proximate a first detector plate, which can be of a plurality of detector plates and a first exposure generated at the first detector plate which is then used to aid in generating one or more images comprising each such exposure. The images are then reconstructed to identify defects in the grout.
