Process for controlling the access of a user to a service provided in a data network, to protect user data stored in a data base of the service from unauthorized access, the method comprising: (a) inputting, in a VoIP session, a voice sample of the user at a user data terminal which is at least temporarily connected to the data network, (b) processing, in a first processing step, the user's voice sample using a dedicated client implemented at the user data terminal, to obtain a pre-processed voice sample or a current voice profile of the user, (c) further processing, in a second processing step, the pre-processed voice sample or the current voice profile, including a comparison step of the current voice profile with an initial voice profile stored in a data base, and (d) outputting an access control signal for granting or rejecting access to the service, taking the result of the comparison step into account.

Method and apparatus for controlling the access of a user to a service provided in a data network

Digital method for authentication of a person by comparing a current voice profile with a previously stored initial voice profile, wherein to determine the relevant voice profile the person speaks at least one speech sample into the system, this speech sample is conveyed to a voice-profile calculation unit and thereby, on the basis of a prespecified voice-profile algorithm, the voice profile is calculated, such that the overall size of the speech sample and/or parameters of its evaluation to determine the relevant voice profile are established dynamically and automatically as the sample is spoken, in response to the result of an evaluation of a first partial speech sample.

Digital process for authentication of a user of a telecommunications or data network for access to protected data or a service reserved for a defined circle of users or for the use of data currently entered by the user, wherein a voice sample currently enunciated during an access attempt by the user on a telecommunications or VoIP terminal device is routed to a voice analysis unit and, herein, a current voice profile is computed and this is compared in a voice profile comparison unit against a previously stored initial voice profile and, in response to a positive comparison result, the user is authenticated and a first control signal enabling access, but in response to a negative comparison result a second control signal disabling access or triggering a substitute authentication procedure is generated.

Example embodiments provide a speaker authentication technology that compensates for mismatches between enrollment process conditions and test process conditions using correction parameters or correction models, which allow for correcting one of the test voice characterizing parameter set and the enrollment voice characterizing parameter set according to a mismatch between the test process conditions and the enrollment process conditions, thereby obtaining values for the test voice characterizing parameter set and the enrollment voice characterizing parameter set that are based on the same or at least similar process conditions. Alternatively, each of the enrollment and test voice characterizing parameter sets may be normalized to predetermined standard process conditions by using the correction parameters or correction models.
