An embodiment provides a method for synchronizing a plurality of super frames to a beam switching time plan defining a plurality of dwell times, the beam switching time plan scheduling a switching between at least two beams which are transmitted using a high-altitude platform or a satellite, wherein each beam covers a respective service area so as to forward a respective data frame to the respective service area via the respective beam; wherein each super frame comprises a data frame to be forwarded by the satellite to the respective service area.

What is disclosed is a device for determining a piece of information on a position of a transmitter, comprising an antenna device, a signal processing device and a data processing device. Thus, the antenna device comprises several different directional characteristics, the directional characteristics each relating to at least a set of spatially different receive sensitivities of the antenna device. The antenna device receives signals from the transmitter with different directional characteristics, the signal processing device processing the signals received and establishing a respective amplitude value of a field strength. The data processing device establishes the information on the position of the transmitter based on the directional characteristics and the amplitude values having been established for the associated signals received. Additionally, a corresponding method is disclosed.

A circuitry for feeding an antenna structure includes an input for LHCP signals, an input for RHCP signals as well as four antenna outputs. In addition, the circuitry includes first, second and third quadrature hybrids as well as at least two delay lines. The first quadrature hybrid is coupled, on the input side, to the first and second inputs and is coupled, on the output side, to the second and third quadrature hybrids. The second quadrature hybrid is coupled, on the output side, to two of the four antenna outputs, the third quadrature hybrid being coupled, on the output side, to two further ones of the four antenna outputs. The at least two delay lines are arranged at two of the four antenna outputs.

What is disclosed is a device for determining a piece of information on a position of a transmitter, having an antenna device and a data processing device. The antenna device receives signals emanating from the transmitter and has a distinguished directional characteristic which relates to a set of spatially different receive sensitivities of the antenna device. The distinguished directional characteristic has a sensitivity minimum associated to a spatial detection region. The data processing device evaluates the signals received from the antenna device with the distinguished directional characteristic, as regards the position of the transmitter relative to the detection region. In addition, a corresponding method is disclosed.

An apparatus for determining information on a position of a transmitter. In one example, the apparatus includes an antenna apparatus, a control apparatus and a data processing apparatus. The control apparatus influences the antenna apparatus such that at least one of the directional characteristics of the antenna apparatus is activated. A communication system includes a plurality of transmitters and a receiving unit. The transmitters are configured to divide signals to be emitted into K part signals and to emit the K part signals using K sub-carriers. K is an integer. The K sub-carriers are frequency bands having a sub-carrier bandwidth and are spaced in frequency. The receiving unit is configured to receive signals emitted by the transmitters. The invention further refers to a transmitter.

An apparatus for estimating a direction of arrival includes an antenna, a beamforming network, and an evaluator. The antenna is configured to receive signals, is circularly polarized, and includes a plurality of different radiation patterns. A phase shifter includes a signal input, a signal output, an ESD protection circuit, first and second signal paths between the signal input and the signal output. The ESD protection circuit includes first and second two port devices, each two port device being switchable between a high impedance state and a low impedance state.
