A driverless transport vehicle, a conveying system, and a method for transporting piece goods. The driverless transport vehicle overcomes a climbing section equipped with a primary side of an energy transmission device. The driverless transport vehicle, which can be moved individually and autonomously on a conveying plane, has a secondary side for energy pick-up in order, assisted by the energy pick-up, to overcome a height difference of the climbing section and/or a transition between the conveying plane and the climbing section. The formation of a connection between the primary side and the secondary side and the overcoming of the climbing section and of the transition between the conveying plane and the climbing section take place at a throughput speed without a slowing-down.

Conveying system having vertically traveling driverless transport vehicles

A transporting device transports objects in a transport direction from a loading region to an unloading region. The device includes a first conveying unit and a second conveying unit which are arranged one behind the other in the transport direction. Efficient unloading of the objects from the transporting device is achieved by providing a separating device between the first and second conveying units. The separating device is configured to separate the objects into at least two object groups dependent on at least one object property.

Device and method for transporting objects

A method and device are disclosed for orienting flat items of mail towards a narrow edge in a U-shaped conveying channel in which they are conveyed in an upright position and without being jammed. Before the items pass the conveying channel for the purpose of alignment, their thickness is measured. The distances of the lateral limit stops or limiting sections are changed by means of adjusting mechanisms for every item of mail in such a manner that at the end of the conveying channel, the item is oriented towards its lower narrow edge by virtue of its own gravity and the distance of the lateral limit stops of the conveying channel from every item of mail during transport through the conveying channel is only wide enough for the item not to collapse at all nor to collapse partially even if its intrinsic stiffness is poor.

Method and device for orienting flat items of mail towards a narrow edge

An apparatus for measuring the flexural rigidity in the longitudinal direction of flat items of mail transported one after another on a conveying path includes a control device, a sensor for detecting the edges of the items of mail and signaling the control device when a mail item reaches a selected bearing point, a deflection apparatus that moves into the conveying path under the control of the control device to bend individual mail items and means for determining one or both of the magnitude of the deflection of the items of mail and the magnitude of the deflection force, the control device progressing signals from one or both of the sensor and measuring means to determine the flexural rigidity of the mail item.
