A thermally expandable composition that comprises at least one organic compound having at least one cyclic carbonate group as a blowing agent, at least one catalyst for the blowing agent, at least one reactive binder and at least one hardener and/or accelerator. Also provided are molded bodies containing the composition, and a method for sealing and filling hollow spaces in components, in order to strengthen or stiffen components, in particular hollow components, and for adhering movable components through use of molded bodies of this type, as well as to the use of corresponding cyclic organic carbonates as a blowing agent in thermally expandable compositions.

The present invention relates to a catalyst composition for curing resins containing epoxy groups, in particular epoxy/polyurethane hybrid resins, the catalyst composition containing an imidazolium salt, in addition to a base, as well as a method for curing such resins in the presence of the catalyst composition, to the use of the catalyst composition for curing resins containing epoxy groups, to resin systems comprising a resin containing epoxy groups and the catalyst composition, and to a dosing system that comprises the resin and the catalyst composition.

Catalyst composition for curing resins containing epoxy groups

The present invention relates to adhesive compositions containing a prepolymer which can be obtained by reacting a reaction mixture containing: at least one epoxy resin; at least one polyetherdiamine or polyethertriamine; at least one carboxyl-terminated butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer (CTBN); and rubber particles having a core/shell structure. The invention also relates to methods for curing said compositions, to the cured adhesive compositions thus obtained, to the use thereof for bonding components and to the components thus obtained.

Epoxy resin composition

The present invention relates to a catalyst composition for curing epoxy group containing compounds comprising a base and a quaternary ammonium salt, of Formula (I): with R, R, R, R, R, Y, A and X being as defined herein. The present invention provides a two-part mechano-responsive composition, comprising: Part I: a tetra-glycidyl amine multifunctional epoxy resin represented by the general formula (I); and Part II: a polythiol and an amine. The cured composition has a mechano-responsive property without adding any dyes or luminescence agents, and by subjected to mechanical stimuli, the cured composition changes its color, and the color is in the visible spectrum range, which can be easily checked with naked eyes; and the color change is reversible.

The present application provides agents for producing an impact-modified epoxy adhesive encompassing at least two components A and B packaged separately from each other, wherein (a) component A contains at least one compound having two or more isocyanate groups together with one or more further additives, (b) component B contains at least one compound which has at least two reactive groups selected from hydroxyl groups, thiol groups, primary amino groups and secondary amino groups and is simultaneously free from epoxy groups, together with one or more further additives, (c) at least one of components A and/or B contains at least one epoxide prepolymer as an additive, (d) at least one of components A and/or B contains at least one latent hardener for epoxide prepolymers as an additive, and (e) components A and B contain no blowing agent that is capable of being heat activated.

Impact-modified adhesives

The subject matter of the present application is a thermally expandable preparation that can be pumped at application temperatures below 70&#xb0; C., containing (a) at least one first epoxy resin E1 that has an epoxy equivalent weight of at most 280 g/eq and a viscosity of at most 1250 Pa*s at 25&#xb0; C., (b) at least one second epoxy resin E2 that has an epoxy equivalent weight of at least 300 g/eq and a viscosity of at most 250 Pa*s at 25&#xb0; C., (c) at least one hardener that can be thermally activated, (d) at least one propellant that can be thermally activated, and (e) at least 1 wt. % of organic fibres having a fibre length of 0.2 mm to 10 mm.

Thermally expandable preparations

The present invention relates to flame-retardant polymerizable compositions comprising at least one benzoxazine compound and particular phosphorus-containing polymers. The present invention further provides adhesives, sealants or coating materials comprising the polymerizable composition according to the invention, and polymerization products of said composition.

The present invention provides a gel time controllable epoxy adhesive, which includes a first part comprising an epoxy resin containing two or more epoxy groups in one molecule, and a second part comprising a thiol curing agent, wherein a peroxide is comprised in part A, part B and/or a third separate part C.

The present invention relates to a polymerizable composition, containing at least one benzoxazine compound and certain oligomeric or polymeric urethane group-free polyether compounds. Impact resistant modified compositions

The invention relates to a curable composition comprising: at least one benzoxazine and at least one toughening additive which can be bound to the at least one benzoxazine in the curing process, characterized in that the toughening additive is distributed in the cured composition in form of discrete domains, and that at least 50% of the discrete domains related to the total amount of discrete domains have a maximum length in any direction of space in the range of 10 nm to 500 nm as determined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

Curable benzoxazine-based compositions, their preparation and cured products thereof

The present invention relates to heat-curable compositions containing a mixture of reactive epoxy resins that contains, based on the mass of all epoxy resins, a) at least 10 wt % of an epoxy group-containing reaction product of epichlorohydrin with polypropylene glycol which has an epoxy equivalent weight of at least 250 g/eq, and b) at least 10 wt % of an epoxy group-containing reaction product of epichlorohydrin with a novolac resin which has an epoxy equivalent weight of at least 175 g/eq, and at least one latent hardener.

One component epoxy resin composition

The present invention relates to a curable composition, comprising at least one benzoxazine compound, and at least one sulfonic acid ester having a cyclic structure. In particular, the invention relates to the use of at least one sulfonic acid having a cyclic structure as a heat-activatable catalyst for curable composition, comprising at least one benzoxazine compound.
