A method for controlling functions of a vehicle by a remote control unit is provided herein. Signals are transmitted wirelessly between the remote control unit and a station in the vehicle. A data transmission rate depends on a distance between the remote control unit and the station. The data transmission rate is specified. If the data transmission rate is below a defined limit value, the vehicle functions to be controlled are no longer performed or are performed to a restricted extent only and/or the remote control unit emits warning signals.

Method and system for controlling vehicle functions

A system for transferring data from a wireless network of a vehicle includes a first station for covering a first wireless network, which is secured by encryption and a mobile device. The mobile device is configured for connecting to the first wireless network and to a second wireless network. The first station is provided in the vehicle, wherein access data for connecting to the two wireless networks is available in the mobile device. In the vehicle, data are available, which are transmitted from the first station to the mobile device, and from there to the second station.

Disclosed is a method for controlling brakes in a trailer vehicle comprising a pneumatic brake system, service brakes and an electronic brake system with anti-lock control, wherein at least one axle of the trailer vehicle is fitted with spring-loaded brakes and revolution rate sensors. The method comprises: monitoring with the electronic brake system whether there is a braking demand, monitoring with the electronic brake system whether at least one wheel of at least one axle is locking up, and if there is no braking demand and at least one wheel of the at least one axle is locked while traveling, controlling the pneumatic braking system with the electronic brake system to pressurize the spring-loaded brakes and to brake the trailer vehicle by the service brakes automatically and with anti-lock control. A valve arrangement is also disclosed.

Method for controlling brakes in a trailer vehicle

A method for establishing a wireless connection between a first transceiver in a trailer vehicle () having an electronic braking system and at least one second transceiver outside of the trailer vehicle () is disclosed. The first transceiver is assigned to an electronic control unit () in the trailer vehicle (), which is coupled to a tractor vehicle () and a wired connection () exists. In the method, a) a trigger signal is generated in the tractor vehicle () and transmitted the control unit (); b) the first transceiver establishes a preliminary connection to the at least one second transceiver, c) the at least one second transceiver indicates via an output unit the preliminary connection, and d) if conditions are met, a permanent connection between the first transceiver and the second transceiver is established.

In a method for warning a vehicle driver of a risk of the vehicle overturning about its longitudinal axis, a control device detects the current transverse acceleration of the vehicle and emits a warning signal based thereon when a risk of overturning is presented. The warning signal is dependent upon at least one transverse acceleration value, which is critical for overturning, detected by the control device while the vehicle is being driven, and a measurement of the transverse acceleration of the vehicle at which the vehicle would actually overturn about its longitudinal axis. The transverse acceleration value that is critical for overturning is determined automatically based on the vehicle behavior exhibited during driving on a curve.

A rear area monitoring device for a vehicle includes one or more distance sensors configured to determine the distance of the rear of the vehicle from an obstacle, and at least one electronic control device configured to evaluate the data collected by the distance sensor(s) and to determine a distance signal that indicates the current distance of the rear of the vehicle from the obstacle. The electronic control device includes at least one input connection for a position sensor configured to detect the position of at least one adjustable vehicle component that, in certain positions, projects beyond the rear of the vehicle. The electronic control device is configured to determine the distance signal depending upon the signal of the position sensor.

An environment monitoring system for a vehicle includes at least two distance sensors for detecting distance by measuring the propagation time of detection signals. The distance sensors are each designed as a transmitting unit and receiving unit for the detection signals and, in a direct operating mode, emit detection signals, receive reflected components of the detection signals emitted by the distance sensors; and emit active measurement signals according thereto. The system also includes a control device that receives the measurement signals of the distance sensors and determines the object distance of a detected object. In a method for signaling a braking process on a trailer vehicle coupled to a towing vehicle, at least one light on the trailer is actuated with an emergency brake signal during emergency braking and with a normal signal during a different driving state. The emergency brake signal causes a different actuation of the light than does the normal signal. The light can be actuated by a control signal of the towing vehicle, and the actuation state of the light can be influenced by at least one control device on the trailer. The control device detects the control signal generated by the towing vehicle and fed to the trailer to actuate the light, and analyzes the control signal. If it detects that the control signal is an emergency brake signal, it does not carry out a dedicated actuation of the light, or it effects a different actuation of the light than in other cases.

Method and control device for signaling a braking process on a trailer vehicle

To prevent the immobilizer for a trailer vehicle of a vehicle train from intervening when the trailer vehicle is moving in traffic, the electronic trailer braking system switches the vehicle service braking system into a 'brake closed' or 'brake released' state when the parking brake in the towing vehicle is actuated in closing direction or in release direction. The immobilizer is activated such that the electronic trailer braking system is only actuated by remote-control by a control device in order to switch the parking brake of the braking system permanently into the &#x201c;brake closed&#x201d; state when the trailer vehicle is decoupled from the vehicle train and is parked. The immobilizer is deactivated when the trailer vehicle is coupled to the vehicle train and the parking brake in the towing vehicle is engaged.

In a method for checking vehicle tires, wheel sensor signals of at least one wheel of the vehicle are recorded over a time period, and a comparative value is determined to indicate a travel distance of the wheel. A reference travel distance covered by the vehicle in the time period is determined independently of the wheel sensor signals, and an individual ratio value of the wheel is formed from the wheel travel distance and the reference travel distance. The behavior of the ratio value over time is determined, and a determination is made concerning changes to the tire of the wheel.
