A device has two machine parts that are movable relative to one another and are connected to each other by a supply line, along which a sensor line is mounted for measuring torsion of the supply line. The sensor line includes two conductors forming a conductor pair, which is stranded during production. The two conductors form a capacitor with a capacitance depending on the spacing between the two conductors. Depending on the direction of torsion of the supply line, the spacing between the two conductors is enlarged or reduced. The sensor line is connected to a measurement unit which is configured in such a way that a capacitance of the sensor line is measured, the torsion being ascertained using the capacitance.

The present invention relates to a data cable. An embodiment of the data cable comprises at least one wire pair and an internal element. The at least one wire pair has two wires running parallel in the longitudinal direction of the data cable. The internal element has at least one flat section. The at least one wire pair and the internal element are arranged in the data cable in such a way that the at least one wire pair lies against the at least one flat section of the internal element.

An electric cable, in particular a data cable, has a transmission core which is surrounded by a shield and concentrically surrounded by a sheath that includes an outer layer made of an electrically insulating plastic material and a second layer underneath that is made of a semiconducting material. The semiconducting material primary purpose is to divert interference currents.

A data cable has a specially formed stranded conductor, as a result of which the transmission properties of the data cable are significantly improved. The stranded conductor is surrounded by insulation and has an unpressed assembly composed of a plurality of individual wires which are of a same type and being embodied as external wires and being disposed around a center. The external wires are embodied with a non-round cross section, with a result that when viewed in cross section an extent of the external wires increases radially outward from the center.

A data line includes a first data cable, a second data cable and a connecting element connecting the first and second data cables to one another. A connecting element interconnects a first parallel pair data cable and a second star quad data cable. The connecting element has multiple connecting lines which transition mutually adjacently disposed cores of a respective transmission pair of the first data cable to diagonally oppositely disposed cores of a transmission pair of the second data cable.

A coupling device serves for the contact-free transmission of data signals between signal conductors of two signal lines with the aid of a coupling structure. At least one signal conductor is a signal core of a signal cable. Coupling portions of the two signal conductors are positioned parallel in relation to one another in a defined way with the aid of the coupling structure. At least a first signal conductor preferably being free from galvanically connected coupling elements lies in a coupling aid. The contact-free coupling dispenses with connecting additional coupling elements at the ends to a signal cable in an electrically conducting manner. By obviating the need for special connector fabrication, this achieves the effect of simplifying assembly and at the same time also improving data transmission reliability, since faults that occur for example in a crimping or soldering process are ruled out.

In order to permit, in a motor vehicle on-board power system, data to be transmitted with low expenditure on cabling, even between multiple partial networks, a plurality of loads embodied, in particular, as sensors is respectively assigned a communication unit for transferring data. The communication units are embodied in such a way that, by utilizing the supply lines they set up a partially interlinked data network, and transfer data made available by the loads, with the result that communication via the partial networks is also made possible. As a result of the transmission of the data via the supply lines in combination with the setting up of a partially interlinked data network, signal transmission is made possible even if there is no direct connection between the respective sensor and a target unit.

Motor vehicle on-board power system and method for transmitting data signals in a motor vehicle on-board power system

A novel data cable achieves good transmission quality in automotive Internet applications. The data cable has a transmission core with only a single stranded conductor pair or four conductors stranded together to form a quad. The transmission core is surrounded by a jacket having a high air content. The jacket may be a foamed sheath, or alternatively at least one spacer element that defines an annular sheath space with air gaps around the transmission core.
