A measuring device for testing channel state information, CSI, type II codebook compliance of a 5G NR compliant device under test is provided. The measuring device is configured to establish a communication connection to the device under test, and send a codebook subset restriction command to a device under test. The codebook subset restriction command instructs the device under test to exclude all CSI type I precoders.

Measuring device and method for testing CSI type II codebook compliance

A method and a test device for testing the CSI Type 2 channel estimation capability of a DUT are provided. The method includes: a) stimulating certain variance of PMI feedback values from the DUT, especially those belonging to the finer grained Type 2 CSI, b) a statistical collection of one or more PMI reports received through CSI reporting from the DUT during the test execution, c) an identification of Type 1/Type 2 PMI feedback type based on the CSI reports received from the DUT, and d) applying a pass criterion: a minimum threshold of Type 2 specific feedback reports must have been received.

HF testing equipment for testing mobile communications terminals emulates the D2D communications capabilities of at least two mobile communications terminals. Using this equipment, interfering radio transmissions that may occur as a result of randomly selected frequency resources are replicated to test the effect thereof in a mobile communications terminal. A channel model of a transmission channel is emulated, and distortion is impressed on the data signal to be transmitted by means of the model. One baseband data signal in the frequency domain is thus obtained for each transmission channel, and this data signal contains the effects of a particular transmission channel on an undistorted data signal. The various baseband data signals are linked together, e.g., by complex multiplication, and transformed into the time domain. A receipt signal for a mobile communications terminal to be tested, produced by taking account of transmission channels and the accompanying channel distortion, is thus emulated.
