An arrangement for producing a glare-free high-beam for vehicles is disclosed with headlights, which have a plurality of LEDs controllable by an ADB control and regulating unit and that a front camera is provided which is connected with the ADB control and regulating unit and which is designed to transmit information about oncoming and/or preceding vehicles to the ADB control unit, the arrangement being characterized in that the headlights are designed to generate an ADB illumination area asymmetrically only for an area of the own lane and that the headlights are designed to generate for an area of the oncoming lane only a low-beam area and a high-beam area. A method for producing an asymmetrical, glare-free high-beam is also disclosed.

Arrangement and method for producing an asymmetrical, glare-free high-beam

A headlight for a motor vehicle with light unit for daytime and nighttime front navigation light and a supplemental distance light unit, in addition to an at least one optical module (), with light source (). The light sources () of the supplemental unit () are supplied with alternating electric current, for creation of the front nighttime navigation light when supplied with low electric current, or the front daytime navigation light when supplied with medium electric current, and when supplied with the highest electric current, a supplemental distance beam in addition to the distance light beam emerging from the optical module ().

Headlamp with day/night front vehicle position

The headlight apparatus has at least one headlight unit which includes several headlight subunits (20;40;60; 61;70;90). A base low beam which illuminates a base region in front of the vehicle is produced by at least one of the headlight subunits (20;40) in such a way as to fulfill the basic minimum requirements for a low beam. Additional headlight subunits (60;61;70;90) are connectable to the headlight subunit (20;40) producing the base low beam. At least one of the headlight subunits (20;70) is constructed according to the projection principle and has a reflector, a light source and, following the reflector, a lens and a diaphragm. At least one of the headlight subunits (40;60;61) is constructed according to a reflection principle and has a reflector, a light source and, if necessary, a light permeable disk with optical elements in it. A concentrated or focused light beam is produced by the headlight unit or units (20;70) constructed according to the projection principle while a horizontally scattered light beam is provided by the headlight subunit or subunits constructed according to the reflection principle.

Headlight with multiple reflectors for producing a variable light beam

The low-beam headlight has a reflector, in which a light source is mounted and a light-permeable disk which has optical elements. Light from the light source is reflected as a light beam by the reflector which would illuminate a region (62) of a measuring screen (60) placed in front of the headlight so that the region (62) has a horizontal light-dark boundary without being effected by or without action of the light-permeable disk. A first part of the light beam reflected by the reflector illuminates a first part (64a,64b) of the screen under boundary lines (65a,65b) inclined relative to the light-dark boundary (63). A second part of the light beam reflected by the reflector illuminates a second part (66) of the measuring screen between the light-dark boundary (63) and the boundary lines (65a,65b). A portion of the first part of the light beam is at least partially deflected by the optical elements of the light-permeable disk so that it produces the higher lying section of the light-dark boundary associated with the vehicle's own traffic side of the light beam from the low-beam headlight after passing through the disk.

Low-beam headlight for a vehicle with same reflector used for different

The headlight has a reflector (10) and a light source (12) which is arranged in a lamp carrier (22), which can be pivoted in relation to the reflector (10) about a horizontal axis (30) between a position for low beam and a position for high beam by means of an actuator (42). Starting from the position for low beam, the light source (12) is moved as a result of the pivoting movement about the axis (30), together with the lamp carrier (22), both in the direction of the optical axis (11) of the reflector (10) towards its vertex and also vertically downward in relation to the optical axis (11). Starting from the low beam reflected by the reflector (10) in the case of the arrangement of the light source (12) in its low beam position, the result achieved is both a concentration of the light beam reflected by the reflector (10) and an elevation of the light beam, so that an effective high beam is generated by means of which the remote region in front of the vehicle is illuminated with a high illumination intensity.

Low/high beam headlight for vehicles

A headlight for vehicles has a light source, a reflector having at least two different reflector regions including a first reflector region which reflects a light emitted by the light source as a converging light beam to form low beam and a second reflector region formed so that light emitted by the light source and reflected by the second reflector region together with the light emitted by the light source and reflected by the first reflector region form high beam, a lens arranged after the reflector in a light outlet direction so that at least the light which forms low beam passes through the lens, and a screening device arranged between the reflector and the lens, the screening device having a stationary screening part and a movable screening part, the movable screening part being movable between a position for low beam in which light forming low beam can pass along the movable screening part and a position for high beam in which additionally the light reflected by the second reflector region can pass along the movable screening part at least partially, so that in the position for low beam an edge of the screening device forms a bright-dark limit of low beam, the screening parts each having a plurality of openings formed so that in the position of the movable screening part for low beam the movable screening part covers the openings of the stationary screening part, and in the position for high beam the openings of the movable screening part coincide with the openings of the stationary screening part at least approximately so that the screening device forms throughgoing openings for the light.

Headlight for vehicle

The headlight has a gas discharge lamp and a reflector. The reflector has an upper reflector region and a lower reflector region. A lens is arranged after the reflector in a light outlet direction, and a screen device is provided between the reflector and the lens. A movable screen member of the screen device is adjustable between a position for low beam in which it screens light reflected from the lower reflector region and produces a bright-dark limit, and a position for high beam in which light reflected from the lower reflector region passes past the screen member and can exit the headlight. Moreover, the movable screen member in its position for low beam is adjustable between a position for right traffic and a position for left traffic. Therefore the head light can be used in a simple manner as a high beam head light and a low beam head light, and also can be converted for the utilization for right traffic and left traffic.

Headlight

The headlamp has a reflector (10) and a light source (12). Disposed in the ray path of the light reflected from the reflector (10) there is a lens (18), which is received in a mounting (20) and consists of an elastically deformable material. The lens (18) is acted upon by at least one control element (22), by which a force can be applied to the lens (18) in order to deform it. The light passing through the lens (18) is influenced, i.e. deflected in its direction. In the nondeformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp exhibits a first characteristic, i.e. direction and scatter, and in the deformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp, because of the then different optical effect of the lens (18), exhibits a different, second characteristic.

Vehicle headlamp

A headlight for motor vehicles is produced so that it has a light source emitting light rays, a reflector which forms by reflection from the light rays emitted by the light source a light beam which is dispersed in horizontal planes and extends substantially parallel in vertical planes. The reflector has an optical axis, the light source is arranged so that its longitudinal axis extends parallel to the optical axis of the reflector. The reflector has an apex region which is formed so that the light emitted from the light source is reflected by the apex region as light rays converging in horizontal longitudinal planes which produce great images of the light source in lateral edge regions of a measuring screen arranged in front of the reflector. The reflector has regions which are located outside the apex region and reflect the light emitted by the light source with increasing distance from the optical axis as light rays which in horizontal longitudinal planes increasingly less strongly converge and produce smaller images of the light source on the measuring screen which form a horizontal light band. All the images of the light source are arranged underneath a bright/dark limit.

Method of producing headlight for vehicle and headlight produced thereby

A headlight for a vehicle comprises a reflector. A light source having a light body. A shutter forming an upper bright-dark limit of a light bundle exiting the headlight. A lens arranged after the shutter is considered in a light outlet direction so that light reflected by the reflector passes through the lens. The reflector being formed so that light produced by the light body is reflected by the reflector so that it intersects an optical axis of the reflector and from the apex region of the reflector great images of the light body are reflected so that after passing through the lens they are arranged substantially close to the bright-dark limit. The reflector having a shape which is determined so that a distance along the optical axis between an apex point of the reflector on the optical axis and intersecting points of light rays reflected by the reflector with the optical axis starting from the apex region of the reflector to an edge region facing the apex region in the light outlet direction is changeable so that after passing through the lens at least approximately all images of the light body are arranged substantially close to the bright-dark limit.

A low beam headlight for motor vehicles has a reflector having an optical axis and a light outlet opening, a light body, a light disc covering the light outlet opening of the reflector, the reflector having an upper region and a lower region having different reflection surfaces which have different shapes and at least partially form a portion of at least approximately general paraboloid and which reflect images of the light body for forming a light distribution with a light-dark limit having a substantially horizontal portion and a portion which is inclined relative to the substantially horizontal portion at an angle .alpha., the reflector being formed so that in sections through the reflector which are perpendicular to the optical axis, section curves are produced whose eccentricity is changeable over their course so that an uppermost image of the light body which is reflected from the upper reflector region has an upper edge adjoining the horizontal uppermost of the light-dark limit and an uppermost image of the light body which is reflected from the lower reflector region has an upper edge which adjoins the inclined portion of the light-dark limit, the upper and lower regions of the reflector contacting one another in a contact plane, the eccentricity of the section curves increasing from zero in the contact plane to a maximal value in an axial plane extending perpendicular to the contact plane, the contact plane being an axial plane which is inclined relative to a horizontal plane at the half angle .alpha. of an inclination of the inclined portion of the light-dark limit and in a same direction as the inclined portion.

Low beam headlight for motor vehicles

An illumination device for a vehicle comprises at least one light generator with a light source, a plurality of light conductors receiving light from the light source, a plurality of light distributing units connected with the light conductors and operating for different illuminating functions, and a screening device associated with at least one of the light distributing units and switchable between a passive position in which the screening device permits supplying light in the light conductor associated with the one light distributing unit to the light distributing unit or permits exiting of light from the light conductor associated with the one light distributing unit, and an active position in which the screening device screens light of the light conductor associated with the one light distributing unit from entering the one light distributing unit or exiting the one light distributing unit. The screening device in the active position is reflective and deflects light exiting the associated light conductor and impinging on it for supplying in a light distributing unit serving for another illumination function.

Illumination device for vehicles

The lighting device for a vehicle has at least one central reflector (10), which is formed as a substantially closed hollow body. The reflector (10) is formed from two reflector parts (11, 12), which have light outlet openings facing each other. The reflector parts (11, 12) are shaped like portions of an ellipsoid of revolution and are arranged so that their first focal points (Fl) coincide and their second focal points (F2) lie on the peak of the opposing reflector part (11, 12). The light emitting body (16) of the light source is arranged in the vicinity of the first focal points (F1). Because of this structure of the reflector (10) almost all of the light issuing from the light emitting body (16) is concentrated on the second focal points (F2) of the reflector parts. A light guide (18) is positioned to guide light away from each reflector part in the vicinity of its second focal point (F2). The light guide (18) conducts the light entering its end portion connected to the reflector (10) to a vehicle light outlet unit (19). The vehicle light outlet units (19) can have their own reflector (21) for collection and formation of the light beam from the light issuing from the light guide (18).

Lighting device for a vehicle having at least one central light source

A headlamp for a power vehicle comprises a reflector having an apex, a light source arranged in the apex of the reflector, and a dimming device which is formed so that in a position for high beam it allows light from the light source to reach a lower reflector region or allows the light to exit the same, and in a position for low beam it keeps away light from said light source from the lower reflector region or blocks light reflected from the lower reflector region. The light source is formed as a gas discharge lamp with an axial light arc, an upper reflector region is formed for producing a light distribution for low beam while the lower reflector region is formed for producing a light distribution for high beam.

Headlamp for power vehicles

A headlight for a motor vehicle comprises a gas discharge lamp as a light source emitting visible light and light in UV-wavelength region, a reflector having a first region which reflects the light for forming a low beam and a second region which reflects an additional light beam illuminating a region located beyond a region illuminated by the high beam, a filter arranged in a path of the additional light beam and at least partially absorbing the visible light and at least partially permeable for light in UV-wavelength region. The filter is formed by a coating which covers the second reflector region and is composed of a filtering material.
