The present invention relates to a thermally expandable composition comprising at least one peroxidically crosslinking polymer which does not contain glycidyl (meth) acrylate as a monomer in copolymerized form; at least one polymer, which is polymerized with glycidyl (meth) acrylate as a monomer present in a proportion of from 2 to 20% by weight, based on the respective polymer; at least one peroxide; and at least one endothermic chemical propellant, moldings containing this composition, and a method for sealing and filling cavities in components, for reinforcing or stiffening components, in particular hollow components, and for bonding movable components using such molded bodies.

Thermally expandable compositions

Thermally expandable compositions comprising polysaccharide

A thermally expandable composition that comprises at least one organic compound having at least one cyclic carbonate group as a blowing agent, at least one catalyst for the blowing agent, at least one reactive binder and at least one hardener and/or accelerator. Also provided are molded bodies containing the composition, and a method for sealing and filling hollow spaces in components, in order to strengthen or stiffen components, in particular hollow components, and for adhering movable components through use of molded bodies of this type, as well as to the use of corresponding cyclic organic carbonates as a blowing agent in thermally expandable compositions.

Organic carbonate as blowing agent

The subject matter of the present application is thermally-expandable preparations, containing (a) at least one peroxide-crosslinkable polymer, (b) at least one low-molecular, multifunctional acrylate, (c) at least one peroxide and (d) at least two different chemical propellants, the mass ratio of the at least one peroxide to the at least one low-molecular, multifunctional acrylate being at least 1:3.

The present specification relates to thermally expandable formulations comprising (a) at least one peroxidically crosslinkable binary copolymer comprising at least one monomer unit selected from vinyl acetate, (meth)acrylic acids and derivatives thereof, the binary copolymer having a melt flow index of not more than 3 g/10 min, as determined in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1133 and with a test load of 2.16 kg and a test temperature of 190&#xb0; C., (b) at least one peroxide, (c) at least one chemical blowing agent, and (d) at least one polymer based on one or more diene monomers, and (e) at least one terpolymer based on at least one first monomer selected from singly or multiply unsaturated hydrocarbons, and on at least one second monomer selected from (meth)acrylic acids and derivatives thereof. The thermally expandable formulations exhibit a high level of persistence during the heating of the material as required for curing/expansion.

Thermally expandable formulations

The invention relates to a composition that can be thermally cured, containing relative to the total composition, a) 5 to 90% by weight of a diene-based polymer or copolymer containing an olefinic double bond and/or an aromatically substituted olefin, wherein the polymer or copolymer is liquid, or paste-like, at 22&#xb0; C. and has a glass transition temperature between &#x2212;30&#xb0; C. and +15&#xb0; C., measured according to a DSC method; b) a vulcanization system selected from the group consisting of: b1) sulfur, and one or more accelerator(s), b2) peroxidic or disulfidic vulcanization systems, b3) quinones, quinone dioximes, or dinitrosobenzene.

Vulcanizable composition having acoustic attenuating properties

Heat-curing reactive composition based on natural and/or synthetic polymers containing olefinic double bonds, and vulcanizing agents, which composition contains a) at least one liquid cis-1,4-polyisoprene with a weight-average molecular weight of between 20000 and 70000, b) a vulcanization system, c) at least one polybutadiene liquid at 22&#xb0; C., in which the liquid cis-1,4-polyisoprene a) constitutes a proportion of the entire composition in the range from 9 to 15 wt. %, the vulcanization system b) is selected from the group consisting of: b1) sulfur and one or more vulcanization accelerator(s), b2) peroxide or disulfide vulcanization systems, b3) quinones, quinone dioximes or dinitrosobenzene, and the polybutadiene c) liquid at 22&#xb0; C. constitutes a proportion of the entire composition in the range from 16 to 29 wt %.

Rubber compositions with high elasticity

A single-component high-temperature-curing reactive composition based on natural and/or synthetic elastomers having olefinic double bonds and on vulcanizing agents is provided. Such compositions contain at least one liquid polyene with a molecular weight between 400 and 80,000, preferably between 800 and 25,000; at least one block copolymer with at least one polyene block and at least one saturated block; and a vulcanizing system of sulfur and accelerators and/or quinone oximes, if applicable. Such high-temperature-curing reactive compositions are useful as single-component adhesives, sealant or coating compositions or sealing compounds in automobile body manufacture.

High strength adhesives with impact peel strength

High-temperature-curing reactive compositions based on natural and/or synthetic elastomers containing olefinic double bonds, and on vulcanizing agents, are described, which contain at least one liquid polyene having a molecular weight between 400 and 80,000 and at least one liquid polybutadiene having a narrow molecular weight distribution and a microstructure of 10 to 20% vinyl-1,2 double bonds, 50 to 60% trans-1,4 double bonds, and 25 to 35% cis-1,4 double bonds in the molecule. These compositions furthermore contain a vulcanizing system of sulfur and accelerators and/or, if applicable, quinone oximes. These compositions are suitable for use as a single-component adhesive, sealant, or coating compound in automobile manufacture, with high tensile shear strength and high impact peel strength even, in particular, at low temperatures.
