A method for operating electrical drive units of seat components in a motor vehicle during a detected pre-crash situation. The method moves a passenger to a target position for an impending crash based on an actual position of the passenger. The method also determines a control strategy for coordinating an adjustment of the seat components in order to actuate at least two of the drive units simultaneously or immediately successively such that the required power of the drive units is minimized.

A system comprising a twisted-wire connection providing data and power signals to devices, the devices comprising power storage to be utilized later for intermittent operation. Device operation may require a higher wattage than is specified for the power signal delivered via the twisted-wire connection. A human-machine interface may provide user input to further control of the device.

A motor vehicle door lock system with at least one vehicle lock, an outside door handle assigned to the vehicle lock, and at least one sensor assigned to the outside door handle, where the system is adapted to detect the approach of the hand of an operator to the outside door handle and/or touching and/or activating of the outside door handle. In one embodiment of motor vehicle door lock system, the activation of the outside handle by the hand of an operator or the approach to the outside door handle is recognized early. A vibration generator is assigned to the outside door handle such that the outside door handle or a part thereof is mechanically vibrated. A sensor is provided for acquiring the vibration, the sound waves caused by the vibration and/or their reflections so that the motor vehicle door lock system can detect when the outside door handle or a part thereof is being approached and/or touched and/or activated by the hand of an operator.

Motor vehicle door lock system

A motor vehicle door lock with mechanical lock elements in a lock unit, the door lock includes a lock mechanism with several interacting elements in a control unit which is arranged at a location that is spatially separate from the lock unit in or on a motor vehicle door or hatch. The lock unit is connected to the control unit by a remote power transmission in the form of a Bowden cable, and the lock element in the lock unit can be mechanically actuated from an element of the lock mechanism in the control unit by the remote power transmission. In the lock unit, there is at least one component which is to be supplied with electricity to be triggered and/or to be interrogated, the at least one component is electrically connected by an electrical connecting element to lock electronics in the control unit, and the electrical connecting element is integrated into or combined with the mechanical power transmission.

Motor vehicle door lock with a lock unit and a control unit which are separate from one another

A motor vehicle door lock and a process for controlling a motor vehicle door lock, the motor vehicle door lock having an electric motor drive for reaching a set position based upon at least one operating parameter such as a start-up characteristic acquired when the drive is started up. The electric motor drive is shut off and short circuited prior to the set position in time and in position. In order to achieve high positioning accuracy, deviations from the set positions are acquired to correct the shut-off point for later positioning.

Method and device for automatically folding back the seats of a motor vehicle

An electronically commutable motor, whose excitation windings can be fed with current via semiconductor output stages from an electronic control unit using pulse-width modulated control signals and, in this context, which generate a rotating field in the stator of the motor, the rotating field placing the permanent magnet of the motor in rotational motion. Without position sensors, a reliable start-up in the rotational direction is achieved even given a high mass moment of inertia, a small cogging inertia, and poor damping such that, during the start-up of the motor, the control unit, during a specific or specifiable start-up phase, drives the semiconductor output stages in overlapping control phases using PWM control signals, whose pulse-width ratio rises from a minimum to a maximum and then falls again to the minimum, that the overlapping areas of the control phases in the affected excitation windings generate currents which yield a virtually continuous torque curve, and that, in the start-up phase, by shortening the commutation time between the control phases, coming after one another, the commutation frequency and thus the rotational speed of the motor is increased.
