A stiffening arrangement () for a forward structure () of a motor vehicle has a mounting bracket () for mounting a motor vehicle radiator. A shear field () is connected to the mounting bracket () to dissipate shear forces. A right stiffening strut () connects the shear field () to a right suspension-strut dome () and supports the mounting bracket () on the right suspension-strut dome (), and a left stiffening strut () connects the shear field () to a left suspension-strut dome () and supports the mounting bracket () on the left suspension-strut dome (). Thus, a major part of the crumple zone of the forward structure () provided for a frontal crash can be utilized, so that the risk of damage to engine components in an engine bay of the forward structure () is reduced and vibrational comfort for the driver is improved.

Stiffening arrangement for a forward structure of a motor vehicle

For the reinforcement of a front section of a motor vehicle, a transverse beam is arranged between longitudinal beams of the body structure at the front side. The transverse beam is situated above the longitudinal beams and is adjoined by in each case one lattice girder. Each lattice girder extends in the longitudinal direction of the longitudinal beams and is connected at one side to the transverse beam and at the other side to a suspension unit mount.

A passenger car configured as a convertible, with an underbody, which has a middle tunnel, and with a cockpit carrier, on which a steering column carrying a steering handwheel is mounted. The bearings having a characteristic which determines a high natural frequency of the assembly roll mode and is modulated precisely to the vehicle body torsion and has a low vertical bearing stiffness.

A damper is provided on a convertible for the dampling of bodyside torsional vibrations in the area of the windshield frame. This damper is arranged particularly on the frame of the windshield and is held by way of elastic slide bearings. The damper is arranged in the open at a distance from the frame and can swing relatively freely in the transverse directions of the vehicle so that natural torsional frequencies of the vehicle on the frame are damped.
