A method for use of substituted dihydroxyterephthalic acid amides in detergents and cleaning agents, for improving detergent or cleaning performance with respect to bleachable stains.

Detergents and cleaning agents having improved performance

The use is disclosed of at least substantially water-insoluble ethers which are fluid and/or at least plastically deformable at working temperature and have flash points of at least 80&deg; C., of mono- and/or polyfunctional alcohols of natural and/or synthetic origin or corresponding solutions of such ethers in ecologically acceptable water-insoluble oils as the dispersed oil phase of water-based O/W-emulsion drilling fluids which are suitable for the environmentally acceptable development of geological formations and which contain, if desired, insoluble, finely particulate weighting agents for the formation of water-based O/W-emulsion drilling muds and/or further additives, such as emulsifiers, fluid-loss additives, wetting agents, alkali reserves and/or auxiliary substances for the inhibition of drilled rock of high water-sensitivity.

Use of selected oleophilic ethers in water-based drilling fluids of the O/W emulsion type and corresponding drilling fluids with improved ecological acceptability

Aqueous, liquid, multiphase, surfactant-containing cleaning composition having at least two continuous phases, having at least one lower aqueous phase I and an upper aqueous phase II immiscible with the lower phase I and which can be temporarily converted into an emulsion by shaking, wherein the composition contains one or more hydrophobic components and up to about 5% by weight of sodium hexametaphosphate. The compositions are useful as hard surface cleaners.

A method for washing dishes containing colored soil is presented involving contacting the dish surface with a dishwashing detergent containing a peroxygen compound and an activator compound of the formula R,R,R,N,CH,CN X,where R,, R,and R,independently of one another represent an alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group containing 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and wherein R,and R,may be part of a heterocycle including the N atom, and X is an anion, to form an aqueous dishwashing detergent. The method is useful for washing colored stains from crockery and cutlery, and is effective at temperatures below 80&deg; C.
