Optical vital signs sensor

A system () configured to facilitate humidification of a pressurized flow of breathable gas delivered to a subject () comprises a pressure generator (), a nebulizer (), a heater (), one or more hardware processors (), and/or other components. The pressure generator is configured to generate a pressurized flow of breathable gas for delivery to an airway () within a trachea of the subject. The nebulizer is configured to provide fluid droplets () to the breathable gas. The heater is configured to heat a volume of the breathable gas before the droplets are supplied to the breathable gas. The breathable gas received by the subject exhibits a target temperature and humidity level at short distance d from the nebulizer due to one or more of a number of the droplets, an average size of the droplets, a gas flow rate, and/or an amount of heating power.

Humidification of a pressurized flow of breathable gas

The present invention provides a system () for humidification of a pressurized flow of breathable gas delivered to a patient, the system comprising; a ventilator () for generating a pressurized flow of breathable gas; a patient circuit () in fluid communication with the ventilator and connectable to the respiratory system of a patient; and an aerosol generator (). The patient circuit defines an internal space () for transporting the flow of breathable gas which internal space accommodates the outflow opening () of the aerosol generator. This enables to prevent so-called rainout and a relatively light weight portable system. The invention also relates to an insert () that is connectable to the patient circuit and that accommodates the aerosol generator.

System for humidification of a pressurized flow of breathable gas delivered to a patient

Provided is a system for adsorbing a gaseous component comprising nitrogen from a pressurized flow of air containing the gaseous component. The system comprises a first adsorption bed, and a second adsorption bed. Each of the adsorption beds are suitable for selectively adsorbing the gaseous component from the flow of air to produce a product gas having a higher oxygen concentration than that of the air. The system includes an adjustable feed gas supply which alternately supplies the first adsorption bed and the second adsorption bed with the air. The first adsorption bed is supplied with air during a first half cycle of operation of the system, and the second adsorption bed is then supplied with air during a second half cycle of operation of the system. The feed gas supply enables adjustment of at least one parameter relating to the amount or respective amounts of air being supplied to the first adsorption bed in the first half cycle and/or to the second adsorption bed in the second half cycle. A connection and valve assembly is provided between the first and second adsorption beds. The connection and valve assembly diverts a portion of the product gas, produced from the respective absorption bed being supplied with the flow of air during the respective half cycle, to the other adsorption bed. This causes previously adsorbed gaseous component to be released from latter. The released gaseous component then escapes from the system, e.g. to the atmosphere, via a vent. A sensor system determines a measure of the flow rate of waste gas, including the released gaseous component, escaping from the system via the vent. The at least one parameter can be adjusted based on the measure in order to tune the performance of the system. Further provided is a method for operating the system.

Oxygen concentrator system and method for operating the same

The present disclosure pertains to a system configured to generate oxygen including a compressor configured to intake and pressurize gas, an oxygen separation unit comprising a first sieve bed, a second sieve bed, and an input receiving the stream of gas from an output of the compressor. The oxygen separation unit generates an oxygen flow by separating oxygen from the stream of gas. A membrane module in fluid connection with an output of the oxygen separation unit is configured to purify the oxygen flow generated by the oxygen separation unit. A valve arrangement is configured to direct, periodically, at least some of the oxygen flow from the membrane module through the sieve beds to purge the sieve beds with retentate gas and exhaust such retentate gas. One or more processors control the valve arrangement, so as to control the oxygen flow and purging of the sieve beds.

Hybrid oxygen concentrator with oxygen side balancing

The present disclosure describes a system and method for maintaining oxygen purity in portable oxygen concentrators, even with asymmetric generation of oxygen enriched gas volumes from different sieve beds of the concentration system. The present system and method compensate for asymmetric oxygen enriched gas generation using asymmetric delivery of purge volumes. Purge valves are used to deliver the asymmetric purge gas volumes, enables the system to maintain oxygen purity without additional power consumption, even when a portable oxygen concentrator does not include a product tank. The present system and method are configured such that asymmetry in enriched oxygen generation can be monitored and the asymmetric purge gas compensation can be applied independently from other control mechanisms of a portable oxygen concentrator.

Portable oxygen concentration

Disclosed is an air purification system () comprising an air purifier apparatus () for removing a pollutant from air, a sensor () for sensing a concentration of the air pollutant and a scent release apparatus () responsive to a scent release signal, wherein the air purification system further comprises a processor () adapted to monitor the pollutant concentration from sensor data received from the sensor and to generate the scent release signal upon the monitored pollutant concentration falling below a defined threshold. Also disclosed is a method of generating a scented atmosphere in a room housing an air purification apparatus () for removing a pollutant from the air in the room.

The present invention relates to a heating device. In order to allow heating essentially without any latency period and with low costs, the heating device comprises: at least one container () having an inlet opening () and an outlet opening () and comprising an adsorbent agent () being provided between said inlet opening () and outlet opening () and being capable of adsorbing an adsorbate thereby releasing adsorption energy; and a gas conveying device () for conveying an adsorbate comprising gas through the interior of the container (); wherein a gas conduit () is provided being connected to the outlet opening () of the container () for guiding the gas heated by adsorption energy inside the container () to a location to be heated with elevated temperature. The present invention further relates to a heating method.

Heating device

A sleep monitoring system () for monitoring the sleep of a pair of subject comprises a pair of CO2 sensors (') for mounting in different sleeping regions within a space () and a processor () communicatively coupled to the pair of CO2 sensors. The processor is adapted to, for each CO2 sensor in a particular sleeping region, monitor () a CO2 concentration from sensor data produced by the CO2 sensor in said particular sleeping region to detect a presence of a subject in said sleeping region; to register () the monitored CO2 concentration upon detecting () said presence; to determine () a degree of crosstalk between said CO2 sensors upon detecting said presence; and to derive () sleep pattern information for said subject from the registered CO2 concentration during said presence as a function of the determined degree of crosstalk, wherein the sleep pattern information comprises at least an indication that the subject is awake and an indication that the subject is asleep.

Sleep monitoring

A particle sensor uses an electrostatic particle charging section in the form of an ionization chamber. A flow sensor arrangement is used to produce a signal which is representative of the amount of gas flow between the outside of the ionization chamber and the inside of the ionization chamber. This information is indicative of the flow conditions, and can be used to determine when adverse flow conditions are present which may adversely affect the performance or lifetime of the particle sensor.

Particle sensor and particle sensing method

A sleep monitoring system () for monitoring the sleep of a subject is disclosed. The system comprises a COsensor () and a processor () communicatively coupled to the COsensor, wherein the processor is adapted to monitor a COconcentration from sensor data produced by the COsensor; and derive sleep pattern information from the monitored COconcentration, wherein the sleep pattern information comprises at least an indication that the subject is awake and an indication that the subject is asleep. Targeted clean air delivery

An oxygen separator for generating an oxygen-enriched gas from an oxygen comprising gas, said oxygen separator comprising: a) an oxygen separator device comprising i) a sorbent material for sorbing at least one component of the oxygen comprising gas; and ii) at least two controllable interfaces, comprising a first controllable interface and a second controllable interface, for controlling the communication of gas between the inside and the outside of the oxygen separator device, b) a processor for controlling the oxygen separator such that a plurality of phases are sequentially carried, amongst them a purging phase; wherein the processor is configured to control the at least two controllable interfaces such that a flow of gas is generated between the first controllable interface and the second controllable interface during at least the purging phase, wherein the second controllable interface is located and/or controlled such that it controls the fluidic coupling between the inside of the oxygen separator device and a volume of non-oxygen-enriched gas during the purging phase.
