An electric terminal includes a contact portion that includes a contact box. A first contact arm extends from the contact box and is adapted to engage a corresponding terminal. The electric terminal also includes a spring portion with a first spring box that is located around a portion of the contact box. The spring portion also includes a second spring box that is located adjacent to the first spring box. The first spring box includes a first spring arm that engages the first contact arm. The second spring box includes a first guard that engages the first spring arm.

Clean body electric terminal

A two-piece male electric terminal includes an attachment piece with an attachment fastener portion that extends along a terminal axis. The two-piece male terminal also includes a contact piece with a lance and a contact fastener portion that extends along the terminal axis. One of the attachment fastener portion and the contact fastener portion includes a box structure. The box structure is positioned around and extends along the terminal axis and defines an interior space. The box structure includes a resilient contact locator that extends from a wall of the box structure into the interior space. The other of the attachment fastener portion and the contact fastener portion is located in the interior space. The contact locator is pre-stressed against the other of the attachment fastener portion and the contact fastener portion. The two-piece male terminal also includes a weld applied between the attachment piece and the contact piece.

Two-piece male electric terminal and method of assembling same

An electrical connector formed to have at least one or more pairs of opposing legs extending from a body portion where each leg extends to a contact point where an inner surface of each opposing leg contact. A spring clip can be positioned over one or more of the opposing legs to increase a compressive force. The spring clip may include an alignment feature to limit clip rotating and/or pitching.

Power terminal

A method for manufacturing a female electrical terminal includes, according to one embodiment, blanking of strip of conductive material and forming a wire connecting portion to receive an electrical wire. The blank may include a contact arm extending into an area adjacent the wire connecting portion. The contact arm extends into this area from a terminal connecting portion at a predetermined angle. The contact arm may be straightened and folded prior to bending the terminal connecting portion into a tubular member for receiving the tab of a male terminal. The step of straightening the contact arm can be performed using a special coining process that applies pressure to the conductive material around the shoulder causing the conductive material to flow within a confined area allowing the contact arm to be straightened.

Method of manufacturing a female terminal

A fuse box has a housing in which a plurality of fuses are received. The housing defines a busbar cavity. A busbar has a plurality of integrally formed terminals, and is received in the busbar cavity of the housing. The housing and the busbar are arranged such that the plurality of integrally formed terminals on the busbar are positioned to directly receive corresponding contacts of the plurality of fuses.
