A support apparatus for supporting an end of a distraction marrow nail includes a base plate attachable to the pelvis, and a mounting device on the base plate for mounting of the support end of the distraction marrow nail. The mounting device includes a ball seat having a cavity forming a ball seat surface for mounting a ball on the support end of the distraction marrow nail, wherein the inside radius of the ball seat surface corresponds to the outside radius of the ball, and wherein the ball seat is arranged so that the ball of the distraction marrow nail can be movably mounted such that the distraction marrow nail can perform a movement sufficient for an extensively normal movement pattern of a femur and cannot luxate out of the ball seat when implanted in the femur.

The implantable prosthesis for replacing a human knee joint comprises a femoral prosthetic element () and a tibial prosthetic element () which are articulated with one another by means of a joint device () for the purpose of executing a knee bend. The distraction system for long bones includes a guide socket (42) and an intramedullary pin (10). It will make possible, in addition to elongation, also a segmental dislocation, as well as a segmental dislocation in combination with an elongation without repeated surgical intervention, while assuring a sufficient pressure on the bone contact surfaces of the docking site. Intramedullary pin (10) is thus provided on its outside wall with a projection (41) which engages in a longitudinal hole (43) in guide socket (42), whereby intramedullary pin (10) is secured against rotation by means of guide socket (42) attached in the long bone, but can be displaced axially.

Distraction system for long bones

The setting device for tubular bone fractures (3,4) consists of a longitudinally extended flattened setting element (20) and of bone screws (10), which in each case are connected to one other by means of a screw (11) and a cone (16) in addition to a taper segment section (15). The setting element (20) has an essentially rectangular cross-section of tissue-compatible high-density material, in particular of implant steel. In each of the two end sections (21) of the setting element (20), at least two bores are provided, which extend through the opposite wide sides thereof. The bone screws (10) are guided through these bores. The setting element (20) consists integrally of the two relatively rigid end pieces (21) and a connection piece (31) lying therebetween. This connection piece (31) is in comparison with the end sections (21) elastic as its cross-section is smaller than that of the end sections (21). The compact setting device formed in this way can be implanted under the skin and enables transverse forces as well as moments of flexion and torsion in the area of the fracture to be eliminated, without the implantation causing additional circulatory disurbances. Further, the normal force in the fracture area can be adjusted.

The medical intromission kit comprises an inner sleeve (10), a distal end portion (13) of which tapers externally in the distal direction, the outer sleeve (30), a sleeve (20) intermediate the inner and outer sleeves (10, 30), a seal means (34) at a proximal end portion of the outer sleeve (30) to receive therethrough at least the inner sleeve (10) so as to occlude completely the inner lumen of the outer sleeve (30), and a proximal outer shoulder (15) having an outside diameter not larger than the outside diameter of the intermediate sleeve (20), provided on the distal end portion (13) of the inner sleeve (10), the three sleeves (10, 20, 30) being formed of flexible material and being arranged coaxially for relative axial displacement one within the other between a retracted position wherein the intermediate sleeve (20) is withdrawn into the outer sleeve (30) with the distal end portion (33) of the outer sleeve (30) abutting the proximal outer shoulder (15 ) of the inner sleeve (10) and being no larger in diameter than the shoulder (15), and an extended position wherein the distal end portion (22) of the intermediate sleeve (20) extends at least to the distal end of the outer sleeve (30) which is enlarged elastically thereby.
