There is provided a microphone unit () for an action camera, comprising a microphone capsule () having at least one speaking hole (), and a water-tight enclosure () which water-tightly encloses the microphone capsule (). The water-tight enclosure () has a water-impermeable passive diaphragm () which can oscillate freely and which allows incoming sound to pass substantially undisturbed. The microphone unit has a head () having a plurality of holes (), the head () being provided outside the enclosure () in front of the passive diaphragm (). The microphone unit further has a foam portion () which is provided in front of the head () and has an open-pore foam. The foam portion () is in contact with the head (). The passive diaphragm () has an oscillatable minimum area of 20 mm; wherein the foam portion () has pores which are sufficiently small so that the foam portion () can suck water residues away from the holes () in the head () like a sponge. At the same time however the pores are of such a size that they cannot independently retain water so that water residues, after removal of the microphone unit () from the water, run for the greatest part out of the foam portion () downwardly under the effect of the force of gravity; wherein the foam portion () has a predominant pore density of 15 ppi to 80 ppi.

Microphone unit for an action camera

There is provided a capacitor microphone comprising a capacitor transducer (KW), a high frequency bridge (HFB) coupled to the capacitor transducer (KW), a high frequency coil (HFS) coupled to the high frequency bridge (HFB), an HF transformer (HFT), a synchronous demodulator (SD), a low frequency output (NFA) and a high frequency stabilizer unit (SE). The high frequency stabilizer unit (SE) is coupled between the synchronous demodulator (SD) and the low frequency output (NFA) and serves to stabilize the HF voltage.

Capacitor microphone

There is provided a capacitive electro-acoustic transducer comprising an active diaphragm () and a first and a second diaphragm carrier (). The active diaphragm () is accommodated between the first and second diaphragm carriers (). The first and second diaphragm carriers () each have a respective flat electrode (). The diaphragm carrier and the electrode are connected together in such a way that the diaphragm carrier projects beyond the electrode by a predetermined amount.

The present invention relates to a directional microphone, in particular having symmetrical directivity, having an interference tube with a tube axis which is provided with a row of sound inlets arranged at least approximately parallel to tube axis, and which incorporates an electroacoustic transducer in its inside in the vicinity of its rear end face. It is further provided that the row of sound inlets is arranged non-symmetrically to tube axis opposite the outer periphery of interference tube.

Directional microphone, in particular having symmetrical directivity

A boundary layer microphone is disclosed. Boundary layer microphones have been known for some considerable time. One example is the MKE 212 P microphone type made by Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG. The latter is a permanently polarized condenser microphone for concealed mounting in a wall, on the floor or on a table. Stereo recordings using such a boundary layer microphone are especially clear, creating a spatial impression of unusual breadth. The known boundary layer microphone MKE 212 P displays omnidirectional characteristics and a frequency range of 20 to 20,000 Hz. The disclosed boundary layer microphone is designed to increase the directional characteristics compared to a boundary layer microphone of the aforementioned type, and to reduce or eliminate the problems associated with same. This is achieved by a boundary layer microphone having at least one sound tunnel running underneath the plate surface, the plate having at least one opening to the sound tunnel. The transducer is located inside the sound tunnel and the transducer opening through which sound enters is positioned in the direction of the sound tunnel.
