An axial piston machine of oblique axis design has a pivot angle that is adjustable via a set piston and a control valve and includes a first valve slide that is linearly movable relative to a first valve axis and is connected at two opposite ends to a first or a second fluid port. The first valve slide has a central region that defines a control point at which the lower of pressures at the first and second fluid ports act. The control point is connected via a fixed first throttle and a second throttle to a housing interior. A second valve slide that is linearly movable relative to a second valve axis is configured to adjust the second throttle. The first valve axis is arranged between the set piston and the control valve or a region of the control valve and is oriented transverse to the adjusting axis.

A control plate, for alternatingly fluidically connecting hydrostatic operating chambers, in particular of an oblique axis type axial piston machine, with pressure medium connections, includes a first end face, a second end face, at least a first recess, a first kidney-like control opening, and at least one through-recess. The first face extends transversely to a rotation axis. The second face faces away from the first face. The first recess is bounded in the first end face by the first control opening, and at least partially forms the at least one through recess, which extends toward the second end face from the first end face at an end portion of the first control opening, and which is arranged in or counter to a rotation direction of the rotation axis. An oblique axis construction type axial piston machine includes such a control plate.

A hydrostatic axial piston machine of swashplate type of construction includes a rotatable cylinder drum that has a plurality of cylinder bores, which are arranged approximately axially, formed in the cylinder drum. A piston is inserted into each cylinder bore at one side. At the other side, each cylinder bore is freely connected via a respective passage opening to a face surface of the cylinder drum. The face surface bears against a static distributor disk. The respective mouths arranged at the face surface, or the passage openings as a whole, have a cross section that has two or four widenings with rounded corners so as to enlarge the cross-sectional area in relation to the circular shape.

An axial piston machine having bent axis construction, having a drive shaft rotatably supported in a housing and ending in a drive flange comprising a face on the drive shaft side, is disclosed in which ball races are formed for receiving piston heads. The piston heads are rotatably retained in the ball races by means of deformable rings. The axial piston machine having bent axis construction possesses characteristics so that pressure relief of the ball head is ensured for all cases. The rings at the inner surface comprise at least one groove running so as to connect the ring faces to each other.
