A low-pressure turbine shaft () for a gas-turbine engine includes a fiber-composite plastic tube () with fiber layers provided in an inner wall area for taking up and transmitting torsional forces, and, in an outer wall area, with fiber layers suitably oriented for influencing stiffness and damping characteristics. The fiber layers are embedded in a high temperature resistant plastic matrix. A load input element () is an attachment flange () made of fiber-composite plastic material integrally formed on a fiber-composite plastic tube (). A load output element () is a metallic driven protrusion inseparably connected to the fiber layers transmitting the torsional forces. Alternatively, the load input element may be provided as a metallic driving protrusion, which is firmly connected to the fiber layers taking up the torsional forces.

On a low-pressure turbine shaft made of fiber-composite material, the connection to the metallic driven protrusion or the driving protrusion (), respectively, is made via an adapter () formed onto the latter, with pylons () extending beyond the circumferential area of the latter and on which the fibers () are deflected and guided in accordance with the fiber orientation in the fiber-composite material, enabling high torsional forces to be transmitted via the small connecting zone.

The present invention relates to a rotor for laboratory centrifuges, the rotor including a rotor housing that is open to the top and at least one recess for taking up centrifuge containers, with the recess being formed in the peripheral area of the rotor as a concentric, circumferential ring trough having an inner wall and an outer wall and with the ring trough being stiffened in a spoke-type manner in such a way using centrifuge containers that are distributed radially and over the circumference of the ring trough that the centrifuge containers support the inner wall and the outer wall rigidly against one another. Furthermore, an adapter for receiving a sample container and for use in such a rotor is suggested.
