The invention relates to a broadband high power amplifier that comprises a signal input adapted to receive an input signal, at least one amplifier stage adapted to amplify the received input signal, a signal output adapted to output the signal amplified by the at least one amplifier stage as an output signal, a monitoring unit adapted to monitor signal characteristics of the input signal and the output signal and a control unit adapted to operate the at least one amplifier stage at an optimal operating point depending on the current signal characteristics monitored by said monitoring unit.

Broadband high power amplifier

The present invention provides an amplifier arrangement for amplifying a broadband signal, the amplifier arrangement comprising a signal splitter configured to receive the broadband signal and output a first split signal and a second split signal, and a balanced amplifier that is coupled to the signal splitter and is configured to amplify the first split signal and the second split signal and is configured to output a single amplified broadband signal based on the amplified first split signal and the amplified second split signal. The present invention further provides a respective method.

Amplifier arrangement and method

A directional coupler is configured to provide a forward and/or a backward signal derived from a high-frequency signal. The directional coupler comprises a coupling element coupled to a main line, wherein the main line is configured to transport the high frequency signal. The directional coupler further comprises a signal line connecting the coupling element to a measuring port. The signal line comprises a defected ground structure inserted between the coupling element and the measuring port.

The invention relates to a microwave arrangement for the transmission of high-frequency signals of high powers comprising a microstrip conductor on an upper side of a substrate. The microstrip line comprises a multi-stage signal splitter and a ground surface on an underside of the substrate disposed opposite to the upper side. A defected ground structure is introduced into the ground-surface below a first stage of the signal splitter. Further a power combiner and/or a power splitter with a microwave arrangement according to example embodiments of the invention.
