A first request to conduct a transaction via a mobile application is received from a user of the mobile application. In response to the receiving of the first request, a first portion of a transaction flow is rendered on a graphical user interface of the mobile application. A determination is made that the mobile application is unable to render a second portion of the transaction flow. In response to the determining, a second request is sent to a server to provide details for the second portion of the transaction flow. After the sending, computer programming code is received. The computer programming code corresponds to the details of the second portion of the transaction flow. Based on the received computer programming code, the second portion of the transaction flow is rendered for the mobile application on the mobile device.

In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for use in a distributed computing environment, for automatically scaling a cluster based on metrics being monitored. A cluster that comprises a plurality of nodes or brokers and supports one or more colocated partitions across the nodes, can be associated with an exporter process and alert manager that monitors metrics associated with the cluster. Various metrics can be associated with user-configured alerts that trigger or otherwise indicate the cluster should be scaled. When a particular alert is raised, a callback handler associated with the cluster, for example an operator, can automatically bring up one or more new nodes, that are added to the cluster, and then reassign a selection of existing colocated partitions to the new nodes/brokers, such that computational load can be distributed within the newly-scaled cluster environment.

A server self health monitor (SHM) system monitors the health of the server it resides on. The health of a server is determined by the health of all of a server's sub-systems and deployed applications. The SHM may make health check inquiries to server sub-systems periodically or based on external trigger events. The sub-systems perform self health checks on themselves and provide sub-system health information to requesting entities such as the SHM. Sub-systems self health updates may be based on internal events such as counters or changes in status or based on external entity requests. Corrective action may be performed upon sub-systems by the SHM depending on their health status or the health status of the server. Corrective action may also be performed by a sub-system upon itself.

A JAVA Database Connectivity (JDBC) subsystem includes a connection pool and prepared statement cache, which allows application to interact with a database. The JDBC subsystem can include a profiling component and a statistics monitoring component that maintain profile and statistics information concerning components of JDBC subsystem, such as the connection pool and prepared statement cache. A client application can register a diagnostic callback with the JDBC subsystem, for use with requests from that client application to methods of the JDBC driver being executed.
