An active stylus includes an elongate housing having a tip end and a secondary end, opposite the tip end. An inductive charging coil is mounted within the elongate housing, between the tip end and the secondary end. A magnet configured to magnetically hold the inductive charging coil in a charging position and orientation relative to an inductive charger is moveably mounted within the elongate housing between the tip end and the inductive charging coil.

Techniques for a circuit board for an input device are described. In at least some embodiments, an input device is integrated into a circuit board of an apparatus. For instance, a touch interaction region of the input device is formed by cutting and/or etching a portion of the circuit board such that the touch interaction region is moveable with respect to adjacent portions of the circuit board. According to one or more embodiments, an input device includes a switch such that movement of the touch interaction region actuates the switch to generate a click input event.

Techniques for a touch input in a circuit board are described. In at least some embodiments, a touch input device is integrated into a circuit board of an apparatus. For instance, a touch interaction region of the touch input device is formed by cutting and/or etching a portion of the circuit board such that the touch interaction region is moveable with respect to adjacent portions of the circuit board. According to one or more embodiments, a touch input device includes a switch such that movement of the touch interaction region actuates the switch to generate a click input event.

Examples include discreet wiring coupling a physical keyboard to a mobile device. The keyboard includes a user interface component including a first housing body aligned substantially along a first axis, a device interface component including a second housing body aligned substantially along a second axis, and one or more conductors coupling the user interface component to the device interface component. A hinge assembly includes a first hinge body coupled to the first housing body such that the hinge assembly is movably coupled to the user interface component and a second hinge body coupled to the second housing body such that the hinge assembly is movably coupled to the device interface component. The conductors include a first segment extending substantially along the first axis and a second segment extending substantially along the second axis. Aspects enable a user to use a physical keyboard to provide input to the mobile device.

Fabric enclosure backlighting techniques are described. In one or more implementations, one or more translucent portions are formed within a plurality of layers of a fabric enclosure assembly. In one approach, regions within one or multiple layers are laser etched to form the translucent portions within the fabric enclosure assembly. A light source is then arranged to selectively transmit light through the layers via the translucent portions to provide backlight for one or more elements integrated with fabric enclosure assembly. The one or more elements may include representations of input keys and/or graphics associated with the fabric enclosure assembly. The backlight may be used to view the one or more elements in low light and/or provide backlight effects such as borders, side lighting, labels, and so forth.

Techniques for a touch input device in a circuit board are described. In at least some embodiments, a touch input device is integrated into a circuit board of an apparatus. For instance, a touch interaction region of the touch input device is formed by cutting and/or etching a portion of the circuit board such that the touch interaction region is moveable with respect to adjacent portions of the circuit board. Techniques for fabric adhesion to an apparatus are described. According to one or more embodiments, an apparatus is laminated with fabric utilizing one or more fabric layers. In at least some embodiments, multiple adhesive zones are defined on a fabric layer. Each adhesive zone, for instance, has a particular set of properties, such as a particular location on a fabric layer, a particular adhesive thickness, a particular adhesive type, and so forth. In at least some embodiments, different adhesive zones differ from one another based on one or more of their respective properties and thus enable different fabric characteristics to be specified at different adhesive zones.

Techniques for fabric laminated touch input device are described. In at least some embodiments, a touch input device is mounted to a chassis of an apparatus. The touch input device and the chassis are laminated with a fabric layer, such as by adhering a portion of fabric over the chassis and the touch input device to enclose the touch input device beneath the fabric layer. According to one or more embodiments, a touch input device laminated with fabric can support different types of touch input, such click input for object selection, touch input for object movement, and so forth.

Techniques for fabric lamination to a component are described. According to various implementations, a single piece of fabric is laminated to a moveable component and to an apparatus to which the moveable component is attached. Generally, lamination of fabric to a moveable component and portions of an associated apparatus can enhance a user experience in a variety of ways. Embodiments may also be employed to cut fabric from around a surface component of an apparatus.
