Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques wireless communication at a first wireless node generally including communicating with a second wireless device using a first beam, detecting at least one condition indicative of receiver saturation at the first wireless device or the second wireless device, and taking at least one action designed to mitigate the receiver saturation after detecting the at least one condition.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE), generally including receiving assistance information, from a network entity, indicating a mapping between beams across different remote radio heads (RRHs) and using the assistance information to perform beam management when the UE is moving from the coverage area of one RRH to the coverage area of another RRH.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that asynchronous carrier aggregation, including between high frequency band and lower frequency band transmissions. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to monitor transmissions in a first frequency band and a second frequency band. The UE may measure a timing difference between transmissions in the first frequency band and one or more of the transmissions in the second frequency band, and transmit an indication of the timing difference to a base station. The base station may use the timing difference to determine whether the UE is to use asynchronous carrier aggregation. If the base station determines that the UE is to use asynchronous carrier aggregation, the base station may configure the UE to observe at least a minimum amount of delay when conducting uplink signaling via one of the frequency bands.

Asynchronous carrier aggregation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may use transmissions causing power density exposure (PDE) to nearby users. To reduce the PDE of an antenna module (e.g., below a maximum PDE threshold), the UE may implement a shielding strip around the antenna module. For example, the antenna module may include a substrate having a first surface and a set of antenna elements on the first surface. The shielding strip may enclose the set of antenna elements of the antenna module and extend away from the first surface above the antenna elements. The shielding strip may reduce PDE outside a field of view of the antenna module. Additionally, in some cases, the placement of the antenna module in the UE and the materials used for constructing the UE may further reduce PDE.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support adaptation of digital pre-distortion (DPD) coefficients based on a temperature of a user equipment (UE). The UE may determine a power offset value based on a first temperature value associated with a training procedure for the UE, a second temperature value associated with the UE, and a constant value. The training procedure may be associated with multiple sets of coefficients for the UE. The UE may apply the power offset value to a transmission power level for transmission of a message. The UE may determine a set of coefficients of the multiple sets of coefficients based on the training procedure and the power offset value applied to the transmission power level. The UE may apply the coefficients to a DPD engine of the UE to generate the message for transmission at the transmission power level.

Techniques for temperature adaptation for digital pre-distortion factory training

Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium for DPD are provided. An example method may include receiving, from a base station, an uplink grant associated with one or more resources. The example method may further include transmitting, to the UE via the one or more resources, a DPD training signal at a first port of a plurality of ports. The example method may further include receiving, at a second port of the plurality of ports, the DPD training signal.

A base station may configure a system bandwidth of shared spectrum partitioned into a plurality of bandwidth parts based on interference associated with each of the plurality of bandwidth parts. The base station may then transmit the configuration of the system bandwidth to a plurality of devices. A UE may receive, from a base station, a configuration of a system bandwidth of shared spectrum. The system bandwidth may be partitioned into a plurality of bandwidth parts based on interference associated with each of the plurality of bandwidth parts. The UE may then communicate with the base station on at least one of the bandwidth parts.

Methods, apparatuses and systems for configuring bandwidth parts in shared spectrum

Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a device. A Long Term Evolution Unlicensed (LTE-U) device may transmit an enhanced preamble that may be understood by Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) devices, in addition to conveying a characteristic that is detectable by receiving LTE-U devices. The transmitting LTE-U device may generate the enhanced preamble by generating a first training field and a second training field. The characteristic that is detectable by receiving LTE-U devices may be a phase shift between the first and second training fields. Additionally or alternatively, the characteristic may be a sequence or tone mapping of the first or second training field. In some cases, the transmitting LTE-U device may introduce a third training field to the preamble which serves as the characteristic.

Enhanced preamble waveform for coexistence

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may configure a first sub-band and a second sub-band of a system bandwidth for communication with a user equipment (UE). The base station may determine a spatial quasi co-location (QCL) relationship between the first sub-band and the second sub-band and may transmit signaling to the UE that indicates the determined spatial QCL relationship. Upon receiving the signaling, the UE may derive, based on the indicated spatial QCL relationship, spatial parameters (e.g., beam width, pointing angle, etc.) for communication with the base station via the second sub-band. The spatial parameters may be derived based on spatial parameters used for reception of a downlink transmission from the base station via the first sub-band. Subsequently, the UE may communicate with the base station via the second sub-band using the derived spatial parameters.

Cross-sub-band quasi co-location signaling

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may select two transmit beams from a plurality of beams that the UE is capable of forming using an antenna array of the UE that includes a plurality of antenna elements, wherein the two transmit beams are to be used to transmit two corresponding layers of information; determine, after selecting the two transmit beams, a phase difference to be applied to the two transmit beams based at least in part on the two transmit beams; and transmit the information on the two corresponding layers concurrently via the two transmit beams using the phase difference. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Power density exposure control

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems may support multi-band operation. Different frequency bands may experience different communication characteristics (e.g., frequency-dependent fading), which may result in undesirable interference patterns and/or coverage gaps. The described techniques provide for discovery procedures for multi-band operation. The discovery procedures may allow for improved throughput, improved energy efficiency, reduced signaling overhead, as well as other benefits for a wireless communications system. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficient discovery reference signal (DRS) transmissions over multiple frequency bands. The timing of the DRS transmissions across the different bands may be related or the DRS transmission timing for each band may be determined independently.

Discovery procedures for multi-band operation

Disclosed embodiments facilitate wireless channel calibration, including ranging and direction finding, between wirelessly networked devices. In some embodiments. a method on a first station (STA) may comprise: transmitting a first NDPA frame to one or more second stations (STAs), the first NDPA frame comprising a first bit indicating that one or more subsequent frames comprise ranging or angular information; and transmitting, after a Short Interval Frame Space (SIFS) time interval, a second frame. The second frame may be one of: a Null Data Packet az (NDP_az) frame with information about a time of transmission of the NDP_az frame, or a Null Data Packet (NDP) frame, or a Beam Refinement Protocol (BRP) frame. The first NDPA frame may be unicast, multicast, or broadcast.

Unicast and broadcast protocol for wireless local area network ranging and direction finding

An apparatus is disclosed for a multi-band millimeter-wave (mmW) antenna array and radio-frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) module. In an example aspect, the apparatus includes a multi-band mmW antenna array and RFIC module with a first antenna array, a second antenna array, and at least one radio-frequency front-end integrated circuit. The first antenna array includes at least two first antenna elements and is tuned to a first mmW frequency band. The second antenna array includes at least two second antenna elements and is tuned to a second mmW frequency band. The at least one radio-frequency front-end integrated circuit includes at least two first transceiver chains and at least two second transceiver chains. The at least two first transceiver chains are respectively coupled to the at least two first antenna elements, and the at least two second transceiver chains are respectively coupled to the at least two second antenna elements.

Multi-band millimeter-wave (MMW) antenna array and radio-frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) module

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive data transmissions on primary cell and transmit feedback for the data transmissions on a secondary cell, where carriers on the secondary cell have a subcarrier spacing that is greater than the subcarrier spacing of carriers on the primary cell. The UE may perform a self-contained transmission by receiving data and transmitting feedback within a single transmission opportunity. The base station may schedule the UE for only downlink transmissions in the primary cell, removing uplink transmission resources and guard periods from slots of primary cell carriers. The UE may transmit other information on the high band cell as well, such as a channel quality indicator or scheduling requests. The base station may apply rate adjustments for downlink transmission in the next slot of a primary cell carrier.
