A system for measuring dimensions of film to be applied to a window includes a plurality of removable cards for placement on the window, each of the plurality of removable cards having a plurality of visible correspondence points at pre-defined positions on the respective removable card. The system further includes a mobile device having an image capture device, and the image capture device is configured to capture an image of the window having a set of correspondence points visible in the image. Additionally, the system includes a server configured to receive the image of the window captured by the mobile device and process the image to determine dimensions of a film to be cut for the window based on the set of correspondence points and the pre-defined positions, and processing the image removes perspective distortions in the image. The system is configured to output the dimensions of the film.

Determining dimensions for providing a precut window film

In certain embodiments, the present disclosure relates to low emissivity films and articles comprising them. Other embodiments are directed to methods of reducing emissivity in an article comprising the use of low emissivity films. In some embodiments, the low emissivity films comprise a metal layer and a pair of layers, one comprising a metal oxide such as zinc tin oxide and the other layer comprising a silicon compound, adjacent each of the two sides of the metal layer. This type of assembly may serve various purposes, including being used as a sun control film. These constructions may be used, for example, as window films on glazing units for reducing transmission of infrared radiation across the film in both directions.

Durable low emissivity window film constructions

Infrared reflectors are described. In particular, infrared reflectors with reduced off-axis color are described. Such infrared reflectors may be useful in laminated glass constructions, particularly for applications where the glass may be exposed to water.

High efficiency infrared reflector having reduced color

In certain embodiments, the present disclosure relates to low emissivity films and articles comprising them. Other embodiments are directed to methods of reducing emissivity in an article comprising the use of low emissivity films. In some embodiments, the low emissivity films comprise a metal layer and one or more zirconium nitride layers adjacent the metal layer. This type of assembly may serve various purposes, including being used as a sun control film. These constructions may be used, for example, on glazing units for reducing transmission of infrared radiation across the film in both directions.

Glazing articles that reduce glare include a glazing substrate, and a reflective polarizing film article attached to the glazing substrate. The reflective polarizing film article includes a reflective polarizing film, and a reflection inhibitor layer. The reflective polarizing film articles reduce transmission of polarized light with a polarization block axis that is horizontal, and reduce horizontally polarized light to 90% or less of the horizontally polarized incident visible light. The reflective polarizing film may include a multi-layer film construction. The reflection inhibitor layer may include a tinted layer or an absorptive polarizer layer. Glazing units that reduce glare include at least one glazing substrate, at least one reflective polarizing film, and at least one reflection inhibitor layer. The glazing substrate, reflective polarizing film, and reflection inhibitor layer may or may not be in contact with one another.

Glare reducing glazing articles

The present disclosure relates generally to light management constructions comprising microstructured prismatic elements useful in the preparation of sun-facing light redirecting films having reduced glare.

Sun-facing light redirecting films with reduced glare

Light management constructions contain an optical substrate having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface. The first major surface is a microstructured surface with asymmetrical structures. The asymmetrical structures form an ordered arrangement of a plurality of multi-sided refractive prisms, with the multi-sided refractive prisms having a cross section of 4 or greater sides. The light management constructions can be incorporated into optical articles such as windows.

Light redirecting constructions

A coating composition is disclosed. The coating composition includes a poly(methyl methacrylate) polymer or copolymer having a weight average molecular weight of at least 50,000 grams per mole; monomer comprising at least one of an alkylene diacrylate, alkylene dimethacrylate, cycloalkylene diacrylate, or cycloalkylenedimethacrylate, wherein the at least one of an alkylene diacrylate, alkylene dimethacrylate, cycloalkylene diacrylate, or cycloalkylenedimethacrylate provides at least 80 percent by weight of the monomer; and a stabilizer against ultraviolet light. An article including a coating on a surface of a substrate and a method of making the article are also disclosed. The coating on the surface of the substrate is obtained by curing the disclosed coating composition.

Solar light redirecting glazing units include light redirecting and light diffusing constructions. The solar light redirecting glazing units may include a glazing substrate, a visible light diffusing layer, and a light redirecting layer oriented such that incoming solar light contacts the visible light diffusing layer before contacting the light redirecting layer. The solar light redirecting glazing units may include a glazing substrate, a patterned visible light diffusing layer, and a light redirecting layer. The solar light redirecting glazing units may include two glazing substrates separated by an intervening space with a solar light redirecting layer disposed on one glazing substrate, and a visible light diffusing layer disposed on the other glazing substrate.

Hybrid light redirecting and light diffusing constructions

The present disclosure relates generally to light management constructions comprising microstructured prismatic elements useful in the preparation of room-facing light redirecting films having reduced glare.

Room-facing light redirecting films with reduced glare

The present disclosure is directed on some embodiments to light redirecting constructions comprising a first glazing substrate, a light redirecting film comprising at least one microstructure surface, a second glazing substrate, and a first interlayer bonding the first glazing substrate to both the light redirecting film and the second glazing substrate; wherein the light redirecting film has an area smaller than the area of the first interlayer.

Daylight redirecting glazing laminates

Light management film constructions contain a first optical film having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface. The first major surface is a microstructured surface with asymmetrical structures. The asymmetrical structures form an ordered arrangement of a plurality of multi-sided refractive prisms, with the multi-sided refractive prisms having a cross section of 3 or greater sides. A second optical film contacts and is bonded to substantially all of the structures of the first major structured surface of the first optical film. The light management constructions can be incorporated into optical articles such as windows.

Light redirecting film laminate

A dispersion that includes at least one organic solvent; nanoparticles, wherein the nanoparticles are infrared absorptive, conductive or a both infrared absorptive and conductive; and at least one polycaprolactone-polyamine copolymer, wherein the dispersion comprises agglomerates of the nanoparticles and a majority of the agglomerates have an average diameter that are not greater than 100 nanometers. Compositions, films, articles and light control articles that utilize such dispersions are also discussed.
