Aspects presented herein may improve a UE's performance by optimizing the CDRX toggling at the UE. In one aspect, a UE transmits, to a base station, a first UE assistance information request, where the first UE assistance information request include s at least one of an updated CDRX cycle or an updated inactivity timer period, and the updated CDRX cycle is different from an initial CDRX cycle and/or the updated inactivity timer period is different from an initial inactivity timer period. The UE adjusts the initial CDRX cycle to the updated CDRX cycle based on the first UE assistance information request. The UE transmits, to the base station after the initial CDRX cycle is adjusted, a second UE assistance information request, where the second UE assistance information request includes at least one of the initial CDRX cycle or the initial inactivity timer period.

User equipment optimization for connected mode discontinuous reception toggling

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for implementing a robust measurement procedure for neighbor base stations (BSs) that are handoff candidates. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may designate a first 5G New Radio (NR) neighbor BS as a handoff candidate for the UE based on a first signal strength measurement. The UE may configure a measurement time interval to perform one or more additional signal strength measurements prior to expiration of a time to trigger (TTT) time period. The UE may determine the measurement time interval based on a duration of the TTT time period configured by a serving BS and a number of additional signal strength measurements. The UE may transmit a measurement report to the serving BS after performing the last signal strength measurement and prior to expiration of the TTT time period.

Robust measurement procedure for neighbor base station (BS) handoff candidates in a wireless wide area network (WWAN)

A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) capable of supporting multiple subscriptions, includes measuring, with a first of the multiple subscriptions, neighbor cells of at least one other subscription of multiple subscriptions. The method also includes storing measurement results from measuring the neighbor cells in a common measurement results database, while avoiding duplicates. The method further includes reporting, with a subscription for which a neighbor is configured by a network, the measurement results from the common measurement results database.

Neighbor measurement method for multiple subscriber identity module (SIM) user equipment (UE)

A wireless device includes a first antenna and a second antenna that may be used to communicate with a wireless network. The wireless device initiates a traffic call with a wireless network and activates a first antenna to be used to communicate with the wireless network upon initiating the traffic call. The wireless device selectively activates a second antenna, when initiating the traffic call, based at least in part on a usage of the second antenna during a previous traffic call. For example, the wireless device may maintain the second antenna in an inactive state if the second antenna was deactivated during the previous traffic call and/or remained inactive for at least a threshold duration.
