In an embodiment, a method of tracking includes predicting a predicted state, in a global coordinate space, of an object based on a state of the object; determining in local coordinates the predicted state; determining a plurality of measurements of the object, in the local coordinates, with first and/or second radar sensors; determining a matching of the predicted state and the plurality of measurements, in the local coordinates, for a matching result; and updating the state of the object based on the matching result. The first and second sensors are arranged along perpendicular lines which intersect at the origin of the global coordinate space.

In an embodiment, a method includes: obtaining one or more radar measurement frames, each one of the one or more radar measurement frames including respective data samples acquired by a radar sensor monitoring a scene; for each one of the one or more radar measurement frames, determining a respective 2-D angular intensity map of the scene based on the respective radar measurement frame; and performing a people counting operation based on the one or more 2-D angular intensity maps determined for the one or more radar measurement frames to determine a people count for the scene.

System and method for human behavior modelling and power control using a millimeter-wave radar sensor

A device includes: a millimeter-wave radar sensor circuit configured to generate N virtual channels of sensed data, where N is an integer number greater than one; and a processor configured to: generate a 2D radar image of a surface in a field of view of the millimeter-wave radar sensor circuit based on sensed data from the N virtual channels of sensed data, where the 2D radar image includes azimuth and range information, generate a multi-dimensional data structure based on the 2D radar image using a transform function, compare the multi-dimensional data structure with a reference multi-dimensional data structure, and determine whether liquid is present in the field of view of the millimeter-wave radar sensor circuit based on comparing the multi-dimensional data structure with the reference multi-dimensional data structure.

According to an embodiment, a method for presence detection includes performing a first scanning comprising scanning a first area using a millimeter-wave radar sensor to produce a first set of radar data; identifying a first set of targets based on the first set of radar data; performing a second scanning comprising scanning portions of the first area corresponding to the first set of targets using the millimeter-wave radar sensor, and performing micro-Doppler measurements on the portions of the first area; and determining which targets of the first set of targets meet a first set of criteria based on the micro-Doppler measurements.
