The present disclosure relates to a labeling apparatus for labeling articles. In one implementation, the apparatus may include a transfer drum having at least one label retaining segment adapted to receive and to retain at least one label, a glue application unit adapted to apply glue onto the label, a cleaning unit adapted to clean the transfer drum and a control unit adapted to selectively activate the cleaning unit into at least any one of: a partial cleaning configuration in which the cleaning unit is configured to partially clean the at least one label retaining segment or a full cleaning configuration in which the cleaning unit is configured to fully clean the at least one label retaining segment.

Labeling apparatus for labeling receptacles and a method for operating such a labeling apparatus

The invention relates to a container handling machine () having at least one operative unit () comprising first support means () to support a base () of a filled and closed container (), second support means () cooperating with an end () of the container () opposite the base (), a plunger () selectively moved along its axis (E) to perform a deformation operation on the base () of the container () from a first swollen configuration to a second inwardly-retracted configuration, and actuator means () selectively activated to move the plunger () along its axis (E) between a first position, detached from the base () of the container (), and a second position, in which the plunger () defines the second configuration of the base (); the machine () further comprises a control unit () configured to selectively activate the actuator means () for moving the plunger () along its axis (E); the second support means () are maintained at a constant distance from the first support means () during the deformation operation; the control unit () comprises measuring means () for measuring the maximum deforming force (F) exerted by the plunger () on the base () of the container () during the deformation operation in order to determine whether the container () is correctly filled.

Container handling machine and method

A container handling machine having at least one operative unit is disclosed. The container handling machine includes a plunger configured to selectively move along a longitudinal axis and to deform a base of a container from a first swollen configuration to a second inwardly-retracted configuration, and an actuator configured to selectively move the plunger along the longitudinal axis between a first position, in which the plunger is detached from the base of the container, and a second position, in which the plunger deforms the base to the second configuration. The container handling machine further includes a control unit configured to selectively activate the actuator for producing a first stroke of the plunger along the longitudinal axis between the first position and the second position, in order to deform the base of the container.

A container handling machine including at least one operative unit comprising support means to support a shaped container, and a plunger selectively moved along a given axis to deform a base of the container from a first swollen configuration to a second configuration, in which the base is in part retracted inwardly of the container with respect to the first configuration so as to form a recess delimited by a boundary surface defining an internal volume of the container smaller than that in the first configuration. The plunger is provided with a shaped head interacting with the container base and comprising: first engaging means and an interacting surface.

A labeling machine for applying tubular labels to articles; the machine comprises a conveying device movable along a given path and at least one unit to receive and retain an article to be labelled, a feeder to feed a label to the unit, a former to bend the label in a vertical tubular configuration with opposite vertical edges overlapping one another, and at least one welding device arranged on the conveying device to weld the overlapped edges of the label; the welding device comprises an electrically heatable sealing element, provided with a striplike working surface having a height at least equal to the height of the label overlapped edges to be welded, electrical power supplying means selectively connectable to the sealing element and controlled for heating the sealing element along a given portion of the mentioned path and for cooling the sealing element along a subsequent portion of the path, and actuator displacing the sealing element to and from the overlapped edges of the label along a horizontal direction transverse to the path.

Labelling machine and a method for applying tubular labels to respective articles

There is described a machine for applying labels on articles transferred by respective labelling units along a given path (P); each unit comprises a receiving member having a lateral wall, which is adapted to receive a relative label and extends along an axis (F) transversal to the path (P); a cam and tappet device axially displaces the receiving members between a lowered position and a raised position and comprises a cam device, which is adjustable between a first and a second configuration; in the first configuration, cam followers of the units move along a first track (R) of the cam device to displace the respective receiving members between the lowered and raised position during transfer of the respective units; in the second configuration, the cam followers move along a second track (Q) of the cam device to maintain the respective receiving members in the lowered position during movement of the units along their path (P).

Labelling machine

A labelling unit movable along a given path for receiving labels and comprising a hollow receiving member having a lateral wall for receiving a relative label, extending around an axis transverse to the path and comprising a suction portion having through holes; a suction pneumatic device connected to the holes through the inside of the receiving member that can apply suction to retain a label on the outer surface of the lateral wall; and a hollow distributor member coaxially arranged inside the receiving member and provided with a number of angularly spaced opening sections having different heights parallel to the axis and correlated to the heights of different labels processed by the unit, and rotatable in at least two different angular positions, each corresponding to a selected opening section of the suction portion of the lateral wall such that only the holes facing the selected opening section are operative.

Unit for applying a label on a relative article

A labeling machine has a carrousel having a frame at the periphery of which a plurality of mandrels are rotatably mounted, and, at angularly spaced positions around the carrousel, object feeding means, label feeding means and object removing means. Each mandel receives a label strip from the label feeding means, winds it around the body of the mandrel so that a leading end and a trailing end of the label strip overlap. The leading and trailing ends of the label strip are sealed to form a sleeve label. The label strips are sealed by heat sealing means which include a pulse heating bar.
