A computer implemented method includes receiving, at device that includes a locked basic input/output system (BIOS), a support service generated one-time code based on a private key and a support service counter, validating the device one-time code based on a public key associated with the private key and a device counter, and unlocking the BIOS of the device using the device one-time code.

One embodiment provides a method, the method including: receiving, from a device and utilizing a variable modification system, a request to make a modification to content of a protected unified extensible firmware interface (UEFI) variable; verifying, using the variable modification system, an entity utilizing the device and requesting the modification is authorized to make modifications to the content of the protected UEFI variable; and authorizing, responsive to verifying the entity is an authorized entity and using an encryption scheme associated with the protected UEFI variable, the modification, wherein the authorization results in the modification to the content of the protected UEFI. The apply operation converts the audio signal into characters; and identifies and removes at least one of a repetitive pattern or duplicate word in the characters to form the unimpaired message. The unimpaired message is output.

Apparatuses, methods, systems, and program products are disclosed for sound-directed graphic accessibility. An apparatus includes a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor. The code is executable by the processor to present a graphic on a touch-enabled display of a device. The graphic may be formatted as a binary graphic with lines defining edges of objects within the graphic. The code is executable by the processor to detect a touch on the touch-enabled display. The code is executable by the processor to, in response to determining that the touch is at a location on the display that corresponds to a line of the graphic, provide at least one sound to direct the touch to follow the line of the graphic.

An apparatus for allocating computer memory for memory diagnostics is disclosed. The apparatus may include a processor and memory that stores code executable by the processor, and may include code that identifies an unreserved amount of memory in a computer system, code that requests a portion of the memory based on the unreserved amount of memory, and code that determines whether an allocated portion of the memory comprises non-contiguous memory addresses. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes code that locks the allocated portion of the memory in response to the allocated portion consisting solely of contiguous memory addresses, and code that performs a memory diagnostic test on the allocated portion of the memory.
