A method for determining an optical system intended to equip a person on the basis of the adaptability of the person to a visual and/or proprioceptive modification of his environment, the method including a person visual behaviour parameter providing, during which a person visual behaviour parameter indicative of the visual behaviour of the person relative to a given state of the environment is provided; a reference value providing, during which a first value of the person visual behaviour parameter corresponding to a reference state of the environment is provided; a visual and/or proprioceptive modification providing, during which a visual and/or proprioceptive modification of the reference state of the environment is provided so as to define a modified state of the environment; and determining, during which an optical parameter of the optical system is determined based on the first value of the person visual behaviour parameter and on a second value of the person visual behaviour parameter associated with the modified state of the environment.

A method for determining an optical system intended to equip a person on the basis of the adaptability of the person to a visual and/or proprioceptive modification of his environment, the method. including a person visual behaviour parameter providing, during which a person visual behaviour parameter indicative of the visual behaviour of the person relative to a given state of the environment is provided; a reference value providing, during which a first value of the person visual behaviour pa ameter corresponding to a reference state of the environment is provided; a visual and/or proprioceptive modification providing, during which a visual and/or proprioceptive modification of the reference state of the environment is provided so as to define a modified state of the environment; and determining, during which an optical parameter of the optical system is determined based on the first value of the person visual behaviour parameter and on a second value of the person visual behaviour parameter associated with the modified state of the environment.

A configurable system is used to evaluate stimulus sensitivity of a subject. An action channel provides a stimulus to the subject and a reaction channel receives a response from the subject. A signal pathway is connected to the action channel and to the reaction channel. A controller establishes loops within the signal pathway. Loop types include a transduction loop including the action channel and forming a path terminating in the signal pathway, and a channel loop including the action channel and terminating at a reference unit. Other possible loop types include an interface loop including the action channel, the reaction channel and the reference unit having an initial parameter value, and an adaptive loop including the action channel, the reaction channel and the reference unit whose parameter value is adapted based on the response from the subject. A method using the system is also described.

Configurable system for evaluating stimulus sensitivity of a subject and method of use therefor

Method for measuring the visually-induced postural instability of a person is described, the method comprising a display providing step (S) during which a visual display device is provided. The display device is arranged so as to display a dynamic visual pattern in at least 50% of the lower half of the visual field of the person, leaving an upper half of the visual field of the person free. The method also comprises a display step (S) during which a dynamic visual pattern is displayed on the visual display device. The method further comprises a measuring step (S) during which a parameter representative of the postural instability is measured when the person is gazing at a fix target straight in front while having the dynamic visual pattern displayed on the visual display device.

Method for measuring the visually-induced postural instability of a person

Method for determining the relative amplitude of eye and head movements of an individual, comprising: &#x2014;a target providing step during which a list of visual targets comprising at least two different visual targets is provided; &#x2014;a reference positioning step; &#x2014;a reference target providing step during which a reference target comprising a visual and auditory target is provided; &#x2014;a reference target gazing step during which the individual gazes at the reference target; &#x2014;a peripheral target providing step during which a peripheral target comprising a visual and auditory target is provided; &#x2014;a peripheral target gazing step during which the individual gazes at the peripheral target; and, &#x2014;a rotation measurement step during which the angle of rotation of the individual's head and the angle or rotation of the individual's eyes are measured.

Method for determining eye and head movement of an individual

The present invention relates to a method and a system for improving sensitivity of a first sensory, reflex and/or motor mechanism of a subject by stimulating a second sensory, reflex and/or motor mechanism of the subject. For that purpose a noise is applied to the second sensory, reflex and/or motor mechanism to improve the sensitivity of the first sensory, reflex and/or motor mechanism due to cross-modal SR interactions.
