A method of processing a hydrocarbon feed may comprise fractionating the hydrocarbon feed into a light stream, a middle stream and a heavy stream; hydrotreating the heavy stream to form a hydrotreated heavy stream; feeding the light stream to a first Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) reaction zone; feeding the middle stream to a second FCC reaction zone; and feeding the hydrotreated heavy stream to a third FCC reaction zone, thereby producing a heavy product stream comprising light olefins; and feeding one or more of the product streams to one or more fractionators, thereby producing one or more finished product streams and one or more recycle streams comprising one or more of light cycle oil (LCO), heavy cycle oil (HCO), and slurry oil; and hydrotreating one or more of the recycle streams to form the hydrotreated heavy stream.

Multi-zone catalytic cracking of crude oils

Processes for producing olefins include integration of steam cracking with a dual catalyst metathesis process. The processes include steam cracking a hydrocarbon feed to form a cracking reaction effluent containing butenes, separating the cracking reaction effluent to produce a cracking C4 effluent including normal butenes, isobutene, and 1,3-butadiene, subjecting the cracking C4 effluent to selective hydrogenation to convert 1,3-butadiene in the cracking C4 effluent to normal butenes, removing isobutene from a hydrogenation effluent to produce a metathesis feed containing normal butenes, and contacting the metathesis feed with a metathesis catalyst and a cracking catalyst directly downstream of the metathesis catalyst to produce a metathesis reaction effluent. Contacting with the metathesis catalyst causes metathesis of normal butenes to produce ethylene, propene, and C5+ olefins, and contacting with the cracking catalyst causes C5+ olefins produced through metathesis to undergo cracking reactions to produce additional propene, ethylene, or both.

Systems and processes integrating steam cracking with dual catalyst metathesis for producing olefins

Systems and processes are disclosed for producing petrochemical products, such as ethylene, propene and other olefins from crude oil in high severity fluid catalytic cracking (HSFCC) units. Processes include separating a crude oil into a light fraction and a heavy fraction, cracking the light fraction and heavy fraction in separation separate cracking reaction zones, and regenerating the cracking catalysts in a two-zone having a first regeneration zone for the first catalyst (heavy fraction) and a second regeneration zone for the second catalyst (light fraction) separate from the first regeneration zone. Flue gas from the first catalyst regeneration zone is passed to the second regeneration zone to provide additional heat to raise the temperature of the second catalyst of the light fraction side. The disclosed systems and processes enable different catalysts and operating conditions to be utilized for the light fraction and the heavy fraction of a crude oil feed.

High severity fluidized catalytic cracking systems and processes for producing olefins from petroleum feeds

A method of producing p-xylene comprising the steps of separating the reformate feed in the reformate splitter to produce a benzene stream, a combined heavy stream, a xylene stream, and a toluene stream, converting the C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons in the presence of a dealkylation catalyst in the dealkylation reactor to produce a dealkylation effluent, separating the dealkylation effluent in the dealkylation splitter to produce a C9 stream and a C10+ stream, reacting the C9 stream, the toluene stream, the benzene stream, and the hydrogen stream in the presence of a transalkylation catalyst in the transalkylation reactor to produce a transalkylation effluent, separating the p-xylenes from the xylene stream in the p-xylene separation unit to produce a p-xylene product and a p-xylene depleted stream, converting the m-xylene and o-xylene in the p-xylene depleted stream in the isomerization unit to produce an isomerization effluent.

Integrated process for optimum production of para-xylene

Method of making BTX compounds including benzene, toluene, and xylene, including feeding heavy reformate to a reactor containing a composite zeolite catalyst. The composite zeolite catalyst includes a mixture of layered mordenite (MOR-L) comprising a layered or rod-type morphology with a layer thickness less than 30 nm and ZSM-5. The MOR-L, the ZSM-5, or both include one or more impregnated metals. The method further includes producing the BTX compounds by simultaneously performing transalkylation and dealkylation of the heavy reformate in the reactor. The composite zeolite catalyst is able to simultaneously catalyze both the transalkylation and dealkylation reactions.

Methods of heavy reformate conversion into aromatic compounds

A process for treatment of PFO from a steam cracking zone includes selectively hydrogenating PFO or a portion thereof for conversion of polyaromatics compounds contained in the PFO into aromatic compounds with one benzene ring to produce a selectively hydrogenated stream. The selectively hydrogenated stream is selectively hydrocracked for selective ring opening and dealkylation to produce a selectively hydrocracked BTX+ stream. The selectively hydrocracked BTX+ stream is separated into BTX compounds. Optionally the PFO is separated into a first stream containing C9+ aromatics compounds with one benzene ring, and a second stream containing C10+ aromatic compounds, whereby the first stream containing C9+ aromatics compounds with one benzene ring is passed to the selective hydrocracking step, and the feed to the selective hydrogenation step comprises all or a portion of the second stream containing C10+ aromatic compounds.

System for steam cracking and PFO treatment integrating selective hydrogenation and selective hydrocracking

A method for producing para-xylene (PX) includes introducing a Caromatic-containing composition to a xylene rerun column to separate the Caromatic-containing composition into a xylene-containing effluent and a heavy effluent and passing the xylene-containing effluent to a PX processing loop that includes a PX recovery unit operable to separate a PX product from the xylene-containing effluent, a membrane isomerization unit operable to convert a portion of the MX, OX, or both from the xylene-containing effluent to PX, an EB dealkylation unit operable to dealkylate EB from the xylene-containing effluent to produce benzene, toluene, and other Ccompounds, and a membrane separation unit operable to produce a permeate that is PX-rich and a retentate that is PX-lean. The permeate is passed to the PX recovery unit for recovery of PX, which the retentate is bypassed around the PX recovery unit circulated through the xylene processing loop.

Methods and systems for producing-xylene from C8-containing compositions

A process for treatment of PFO from a steam cracking zone includes hydrodealkylating PFO or a portion thereof for conversion of polyaromatics compounds contained in the PFO into hydrodealkylated aromatic compounds with one benzene ring, a hydrodealkylated BTX+ stream. The hydrodealkylated BTX+ stream is separated into BTX compounds.

System and process for steam cracking and PFO treatment integrating hydrodealkylation

A process for treatment of PFO from a steam cracking zone includes hydrodealkylating PFO or a portion thereof for conversion of polyaromatics compounds contained in the PFO into hydrodealkylated aromatic compounds with one benzene ring, a hydrodealkylated BTX+ stream. In addition, a naphtha reformer is integrated, so that the hydrodealkylated BTX+ stream and a reformate stream are separated into BTX compounds.

System and process for steam cracking and PFO treatment integrating hydrodealkylation and naphtha reforming

Embodiments of zeolite composite catalysts and methods of producing the zeolite composite catalysts are provided, where the methods comprise dissolving in an alkaline solution a catalyst precursor comprising at least one mesoporous zeolite while heating, stirring, or both to yield a dissolved zeolite solution, where the mesoporous zeolite has a molar ratio of SiO/AlOof at least 30, where the mesoporous zeolite comprises zeolite beta, adjusting the pH of the dissolved zeolite solution, aging the pH adjusted dissolved zeolite solution to yield solid zeolite composite from the dissolved zeolite solution, and calcining the solid zeolite composite to produce the zeolite composite catalyst, where the zeolite composite catalyst has a mesostructure comprising at least one disordered mesophase and at least one ordered mesophase, and where the zeolite composite catalyst has a surface area defined by the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis of at least 600 m/g.

Zeolite composite catalysts for conversion of heavy reformate to xylenes

Processes for producing olefins include introducing a hydrocarbon feed to a high-severity fluidized catalytic cracking system, contacting the hydrocarbon feed with a cracking catalyst under high-severity conditions in the high-severity fluidized catalytic cracking system to produce a cracking reaction effluent comprising butene, and passing at least a portion of the cracking reaction effluent, which includes at least butene, to a metathesis system. The processes further include contacting the portion of the cracking reaction effluent with a metathesis catalyst in the metathesis system, which causes at least a portion of the butene in the cracking C4 effluent to undergo a metathesis reaction to produce a metathesis reaction effluent comprising at least one of ethylene, propene, or both. The processes may further include separating a metathesis C5+ effluent from the metathesis reaction effluent and passing the metathesis C5+ effluent back to the high-severity fluidized catalytic cracking unit.

Systems and processes integrating fluidized catalytic cracking with metathesis for producing olefins

A method of producing p-xylene, the method comprising the steps of converting the C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons and the hydrogen gas in the presence of a dealkylation catalyst to produce a dealkylation effluent, separating the dealkylation effluent to produce a carbon-nine (C9) aromatics stream, a xylene stream, and a toluene stream, separating the p-xylenes from the xylene stream in the p-xylene separation unit to produce a p-xylene product and a p-xylene depleted stream, converting the m-xylene and o-xylene in the p-xylene depleted stream in the isomerization unit to produce an isomerization effluent, reacting the C9 aromatics stream and the hydrogen stream in the presence of a transalkylation catalyst in the transalkylation reactor to produce a transalkylation effluent, separating the C6 to C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons in the isomerization effluent and the transalkylation effluent in the splitter column to produce a benzene recycle, a toluene recycle, a xylene recycle and a C9+ recycle.

Integrated process for maximizing production of para-xylene from full reformate

A system includes a hydroprocessing zone configured to remove impurities from crude oil; a first separation unit configured to separate a liquid output from the hydroprocessing zone into a light fraction and a light fraction; an aromatic extraction subsystem configured to extract aromatic petrochemicals from the light fraction; and a fluid catalytic cracking unit configured to crack the heavy fraction into multiple products.

Conversion of crude oil to aromatic and olefinic petrochemicals

A process for treatment of PFO from a steam cracking zone includes selectively hydrogenating PFO or a portion thereof for conversion of polyaromatics compounds contained in the PFO into aromatic compounds with one benzene ring to produce a selectively hydrogenated stream. The selectively hydrogenated stream is reacted in a fluid catalytic cracking reactor for selective ring opening and dealkylation to produce fluid catalytic cracking including light cycle oil. The light cycle oil is separated into BTX compounds. Optionally the PFO is separated into a first stream containing C9+ aromatics compounds with one benzene ring, and a second stream containing C10+ aromatic compounds, whereby the first stream containing C9+ aromatics compounds with one benzene ring is passed to the fluid catalytic cracking reactor, and the feed to the selective hydrogenation step comprises all or a portion of the second stream containing C10+ aromatic compounds.
