A nano-pharmaceutical formulation, comprising zein nanoparticles, icariin (ICA) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof encapsulated within the zein nanoparticles, at least one solubilizer, wherein the at least one solubilizer comprises D-a-Tocopherol polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate (TPGS), and one or more pharmaceutical penetration enhancers is provided. Methods of enhancing libido by administering a composition as described herein is also provided.

Icariin nano-pharmaceutical formulation

An oil-in-water nanoemulsion is provided. The nanoemulsion contains 8-12% w/v essential oil, 1-5% w/v polysorbate 80 surfactant, 2-6% w/v glyceryl citrate/lactate/linoleate/oleate co-surfactant, and 1-5% w/v glycerol monocaprylate, type I, wherein a ratio of the surfactant and co-surfactant to essential oil is from 1:1.1 to 1:1.6. Methods of preparing the nanoemulsion and for the transdermal delivery of the nanoemulsion are also provided.

Essential oil nanoemulsion and methods of use thereof

Provided are a self-nanoemulsifying 3D printer ink composition and a method of using such composition to manufacture a 3D-printed tablet having compartmentalized active pharmaceutical ingredients. In particular, the 3D-printed tablet composition includes glimepiride and/or rosuvastatin in a curcuma oil based self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS). The disclosure also provides a method of treating a metabolic disorder or disease by administering a therapeutically effective amount of the 3D-printed tablet to a subject in need thereof.

Methods for treating metabolic disorder

An ophthalmic formulation comprising transethosomes is provided. The transethosomes include a phospholipid, an edge activator, ethanol, and ketoconazole, wherein a surface of the transethosome is modified with a cationic charge inducing agent. The transethosomes may be incorporated into in situ gelling or hydrogel compositions. The formulations are useful for the sustained delivery of ketoconazole to the posterior eye segment of a subject.
