A rotary electric machine includes a stator including a stator body and a winding, the winding passing through slots of the stator body, the slots having an isthmus. A rotor includes a rotor body with cavities and permanent magnets, arranged in the cavities, forming magnetic poles having a central axis, a quadrature axis being equidistant from two successive central axes. The ratio between the width of the isthmus and the width of the slot being greater than or equal to 0.40 and less than or equal to 0.7, and the ratio between an air gap at the central axis and an air gap at the quadrature axis being greater than or equal to 0.8 and less than or equal to 1.5. An electrical assembly includes such a rotary electric machine and an inverter.
