An emergency lighting head including an LED light surface and a reflector, wherein the reflector has a main body reflector portion and a crown reflector portion attached to the main body portion. The main body reflector portion has an inner reflective surface symmetrical about a central optical axis. The reflective surface has a first end for receiving the LED light surface and a second end opposite the first end. The crown reflector portion is attached to the second end of the main body reflector portion and has an inner reflective surface tilted inwardly from the second end of the main body reflector portion toward the central optical axis.

A light engine for a lighting fixture includes a bracket, with multiple mounting surfaces configured at different angles to form a substantially concave region, and a plurality of light emitting diode (LED) modules mounted to the multiple mounting surfaces to project an axis of a light beam from each of the plurality of LED modules along substantially a same illuminating plane. The light engine includes a first set of lenses with a first type of optical surface for focusing a first portion of the plurality of LED modules and a second set of lenses with a second type of optical surface, different than the first type, for focusing a second portion of the plurality of LED modules.

A processing unit in a dual-mode lighting fixture receives, via a light pipe of the lighting fixture, a test command signal from a remote control and initiates, based on the test command signal, testing for emergency condition lighting of the lighting fixture. The processing unit receives, via the light pipe, a control command signal from the remote control and controls, based on the control command signal, normal condition lighting of the lighting fixture. The processing unit also monitors feedback loops from a battery, a charger, or a set of LED lamps in the lighting fixture and presents, via the light pipe, a status color indication based on the monitored feedback.

A lighting equipment enclosure comprises a front plate assembly and a back plate assembly. The back plate assembly comprises a back plate including a partition that defines an area of the back plate, wherein the area includes a first access point and a second access point. The back plate assembly also comprises a snap electrical connector, a set of wires that extend from the snap electrical connector, and a partition cover that is attachable to the back plate, wherein when the partition cover is in a closed position, the partition cover covers a substantial portion of the area. The partition and the partition cover form a space in which electrical wires from independent power supplies may be attached to the sets of wires.

A concealed emergency lighting system that includes a lamp assembly box and a power source box and a method for installing the emergency lighting system is disclosed. The lamp assembly box has a face plate and a front door pivotably moveable between an open and a closed position and a lamp assembly. The power source box includes a battery and other electrical components that are connected to the lamp assembly. The emergency lighting system can also include a mounting bracket with screws, a flexible support and a flexible armored cable. The method of installing the concealed emergency lighting system includes the steps of: forming an opening in a wall; attaching the mounting bracket to a stud through the opening; connecting the power source; inserting the power source box and the lamp assembly box through the opening; and securing the lamp assembly box to the mounting bracket.

A reflector includes a first concave surface, a second concave surface and a third concave surface. The first concave surface has a first axis and a first opening to receive a first light source. The first concave surface is configured to reflect first light rays of the first light source from the first concave surface across the first axis and not to reflect second light rays of the first light source from the first concave surface. The second concave surface has a second axis and a second opening to receive a second light source. The second concave surface is configured to reflect first light rays of the second light source from the second concave surface across the second axis and not to reflect second light rays of the second light source from the second concave surface. The third concave surface translates along a substantially straight line to intersect the first concave surface and the second concave surface such that the first light rays of the first and second light sources contribute to an interior lighted portion of a lighted pathway that is defined by a combination of the first and second light rays of the first and second light sources.

A compact and cost-efficient lamp assembly includes cold-cathode fluorescent lamps in a variety of edge-lit display sign applications specifically, in edge-lit emergency lighting signs. The lamp assembly includes in one self-contained module a lower housing unit and an upper housing unit shaped to cover the lower housing unit. The lower housing unit is divided into a lower frame and an upper frame disposed on top of the lower frame. The upper frame has at least two inverters disposed within. The lower frame is a parabolic shape reflector frame supporting at least two cathode lamps in line with the two inverters, each of which is connected to each lamp for providing high voltage to power up the lamps. Additionally, an edge-lit panel having a front and back side is disclosed in the present invention. The backside includes a semi-transparent frosted surface with a white opaque lamination glued on the frosted surface. A legend is printed on the front side using a first white layer and a colored second layer of semi-transparent materials. So, when the light passes through the first layer it is split in such a manner that part of the light is reflected back into the panel and the other part of the light illuminates the second colored layer.

Cold-cathode fluorescent lamp assembly for lighting applications

The present invention provides a simple circuit for a DC power supply. The power supply circuit of the present invention includes a transformer in combination with a switching power supply circuit. The transformer includes a primary winding to which a wide range of AC input voltages is applied and a secondary winding for supplying the resultant AC voltage range as an input voltage to the switching power supply circuit. The switching power supply circuit further includes an input terminal having the input voltage applied thereto by the secondary winding and further having an output terminal from which a DC power supply output is generated. The transformer can be selected from a group of transformers consisting of step-down, step-up and repeater transformers. The switching power supply circuit may be selected from any convention switching power supply circuit including step-up, step, down and inverter converters, and combinations thereof, or even linear configurations.

Power supply with multiple AC input voltages

The present invention provides a self-supplied DC/DC switching power supply circuit for emergency notification and similar applications. The circuit includes a control circuit in electrical communication with an igniter circuit. The igniter circuit provides a temporary activation voltage to the control circuit for activation thereof. The igniter circuit provides the activation voltage for a limited time duration sufficient for enablement of the switching power supply circuit after which time power is supplied to such control circuit by the output voltage. The present invention SPS circuit can use a single-cell battery pile or other low-voltage source as low as 0.3V DC while realizing improved efficiency over a wide range of input voltages.
