A first cascade segment of a thrust reverser system has a first cascade segment flow area and is associated with a first lateral sector. A second cascade segment has a second cascade segment flow area and is associated with a second lateral sector. The second cascade segment flow area may be at least 1.2 times the first cascade segment flow area. The first lateral sector has a first leakage flow area and a first total flow area that is equal to a sum of at least the first cascade segment flow area and the first leakage flow area. The second lateral sector has a second leakage flow area and a second total flow area that is equal to a sum of at least the second cascade segment flow area and the second leakage flow area. The second total flow area may be within 10% of the first total flow area.

In various embodiments, the bullnose ramp includes a forward portion, the forward portion characterized by a first profile; an aft portion, the aft portion characterized by a second profile; and a transition portion positioned proximate an intersection between the forward portion and the aft portion, the transition portion defining a change in slope between the first profile and the second profile.

The protrusions are bonded or formed integral with the bullnose ramp. The first thrust reverser section is movably attached to and arranged on the first side of the fixed structure. Each of the plurality of lengthwise extending side turning vanes is configured to have a side turning angle. The distribution conduit projects longitudinally out from the bulkhead and into the cavity along a conduit centerline. At least a first portion of the distribution conduit tapers as the distribution conduit extends longitudinally along the conduit centerline. The first portion of the distribution conduit has an elongated geometry in a plane perpendicular to the conduit centerline. The one or more nozzle ports are arranged longitudinally along the conduit centerline and fluidly coupled with an internal passage of the distribution conduit.

A nacelle inlet structure is provided for an aircraft propulsion system. This inlet structure includes an inlet lip, a bulkhead, a nozzle and a plurality of heat transfer augmentation features. The inlet lip includes an inner lip skin and an outer lip skin. The bulkhead is configured with the inlet lip to form a cavity axially between a forward end of the inlet lip and the bulkhead and radially between the inner lip skin and the outer lip skin. The annular cavity extends along a curvilinear centerline within the inlet lip. The nozzle is configured to inject fluid approximately tangentially into the annular cavity. The heat transfer augmentation features are configured with the inner lip skin and operable to interact with the fluid flow within the cavity in order to promote heat transfer between the inner lip skin and the fluid within the cavity.

An improved anti-icing system for a nose cowl of an aircraft jet engine. An improved injection nozzle is provided to passively enhance the injection of hot, pressure gas from the engine into the ambient air within the nose cowl to entrain such air and cause the entrained mass to rotate within the nose cowl in swirling rotational motion and thereby cause the temperature of the skin of the nose cowl to rise sufficiently to preclude the formation of ice thereon during flight. A plurality of spaced circumferentially arranged tab members, that are preferably triangularly shaped, are canted inwardly slightly to create large scale longitudinal vortices and transverse stirring during the introduction of hot gas and thereby enhance its mixture with the ambient air within the nose cowl and thereby preclude any tendency for the formation of an area of elevated temperature in the skin of the nose cowl downstream of the position of the injection nozzle under certain severe design conditions.
