Computing systems, computer-readable media, and methods may include determining, for a hydrocarbon field, one or more formation properties and one or more fluid properties and determining, for the hydrocarbon field, a location of one or more wells and a configuration of the one or more wells. The method may include dividing the hydrocarbon field into one or more grid cells. The method may include simulating fluid flow in at least one of the one or more grid cells based on a multi-point well connection process. The multi-point well connection process may determine flow conditions between the one or more wells and the at least of the one or more grid cells. The method may include determining one or more parameters of the one or more wells based at least in part on the fluid flow.

Methods and systems for simulating a hydrocarbon field using a multi-point well connection method

A method can include receiving fluid saturation data for fluid saturation parameters associated with permeabilities of a multidimensional spatial model of a geologic environment; adjusting at least a portion of the fluid saturation data to provide adjusted fluid saturation data by optimizing a quadratic function subject to linear constraints; and simulating flow of fluid using the adjusted fluid saturation data for fluid saturation parameters associated with permeabilities and the multidimensional spatial model of the geologic environment.

Saturation end-point adjustment

To provide a simplified subterranean model of a subterranean structure, a first grid size for the simplified subterranean model is selected, where the first grid size is coarser than a second grid size associated with a detailed subterranean model. The simplified subterranean model is populated with subterranean properties according to the selected first grid size, where multiple realizations of the simplified subterranean model are provided for different sets of values of the subterranean properties. The realizations of the simplified subterranean model are ranked based on comparing outputs of simulations of the realizations with measured data associated with the subterranean structure.
