The present disclosure relates generally to a surface structure for construction products, for example, suitable for construction products that cover visible interior surfaces, such as drywall and ceiling panels. The present disclosure relates more particularly to an interior surface construction product including a visible surface covered with a texture including surface features having a height in a range from 20 μm to 2500 μm. The visible surface has an average rotational derivative that is no greater than 1.2*a respective rotational derivative of a Lambertian surface under the same lighting and viewing conditions. The rotational derivative is the percentage change in radiance from the visible surface in a viewing direction when illuminated in an illumination direction as the surface rotates about an axis that is perpendicular to a plane defined by the viewing direction and the illumination direction.

This disclosure relates to containers (e.g., in the form of bags) comprising a fluoropolymer and containing a degradable carrier comprising biological agent-capturing moieties, to cell isolation systems comprising such containers, and to methods for cultivating a biological agent using such containers. In one embodiment, the disclosure provides a container having an outer surface and an inner surface, the inner surface comprising a fluoropolymer, and contained in the container, a degradable carrier; wherein the carrier comprises a plurality of biological agent-capturing moieties.

Methods and systems for real-time visualization of building structures are disclosed. A computing system may calculate physical illumination characteristics for each of a plurality of predefined virtual external building-surface elements layered in simulation at specified surface locations of a virtual three-dimensional (3D) model of a building structure, wherein the virtual 3D model is constructed based on data descriptive of the building structure. Each of the plurality of predefined virtual external building-surface elements may be associated with its calculated illumination characteristics in a database. A spatially-manipulable rendered image of the building structure may displayed on an interactive display in real-time based on the virtual 3D model. On the interactive display device, one or more of the plurality of the predefined virtual external building-surface elements may be rendered in real-time at respectively specified locations on the rendered image. On the interactive display device, illumination of each of the one or more of the plurality of the predefined virtual external building-surface elements may be simulated in real-time based on its associated calculated illumination characteristics, its respectively specified location on the rendered image, and a specification of environmental illuminati on conditions.

Systems and methods for visualization of building structures

The present disclosure relates generally to evaluating the surfaces of a building. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a method of characterizing a surface texture of a building surface. The method includes illuminating a first area of the building surface from a single direction and capturing an image of the first area using a camera while the first area is illuminated. The first image includes a first group of digital pixel values. The method further includes calculating a first set of values that characterize a first surface texture of the first area based on a first group of digital pixel values of the image, and comparing the first set of values to a second set of values that characterize a second surface texture, so as to produce a comparator value.

Method of characterizing a surface texture and texture characterization tool

Systems and methods are disclosed that include an operation chamber, a plasma generator having at least one plasma head disposed within the operation chamber and in proximity to a profile formed by cutting a piece of tubing, and a mechanical motion module. The plasma generator generates a plasma treatment and applies the plasma treatment via the at least one plasma head to the profile to activate material on an end surface of the profile, within a lumen of the profile, or a combination thereof. Once the material of the profile is activated by the plasma treatment, the mechanical motion module manipulates the profile to close the lumen of the profile to aseptically seal the profile.

This disclosure relates generally to containers (such as bags) having surfaces comprising one or more aptamer sequences. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to containers such as bags comprising a fluoropolymer attached to aptamer sequences having binding affinity for one or more biological agents, and to transductions methods using such containers. The present disclosure relates to methods for preparing a hydrophilic composition including intimately mixing a silicone component including at least one polysiloxane and a polymer component, and to hydrophobic polymer compositions prepared thereby. One aspect of the disclosure provides an article having a major exterior surface, the article comprising an intimate mixture of a silicone component including at least one polysiloxane; and a polymer component including at least one hydrophilic polymer having a water-absorption capacity of at least 50 wt. %; wherein the silicone component and the polymer component are present in the mixture in a dry weight ratio within the range of 99.9:0.1 to 30:70. In certain desirable embodiments as otherwise described herein, the intimate mixture is disposed at an exterior surface of the article, e.g., at the major exterior surface of the article.

The present disclosure relates to roofing granules, such as solar-reflective roofing granules having one or more of low crystalline silica content, high stain resistance and algae resistance.
