The present disclosure relates to energy storage devices having: a sealed container configured to house a plurality of energy storage devices and enable electrical communication via terminals of the sealed container and a vent located on a periphery of the sealed container. The vent generally comprises a vent panel; a countersink located adjacent the vent panel; at least one score located in the countersink; a buckling initiator at least partially located on the countersink, where the buckling initiator is configured to intersect with the at least one score; and a hinge portion attached to the vent panel, where the hinge portion is positioned opposite the buckling initiator.

The teachings provide a fill tube assembly for a casting mold and methods of using the assembly. The fill tube assembly includes a fill tube having a tubular member with a receiving end, a mold-engaging end and an intermediate portion. The mold-engaging end has a tapered flange radially extending therefrom, the remainder of the tubular member has a substantially, uniform cross-section. A clamping assembly is structured to maintain a substantially leakproof seal at the fill tube, casting mold interface while accommodating dimensional variations. The clamping assembly includes a gasket, a load ring, a clamping plate and a pre-load gap between the clamping plate and the casting mold and optionally includes a dimensional compensating ring. When tightened, the clamping plate biases the load ring against the flange thereby distributing a uniform load against the casting mold, compressing the gasket therebetween while narrowing the pre-load gap to accommodate dimensional variations.

A vehicle door has a door body which includes an outer door panel, an inner door panel, and a recess disposed therebetween. A metal mat has a plurality of elongated first elements and a plurality of second elements interwoven with respect to the first elements. The metal mat is secured directly or indirectly to the door body. The first elements are movable with respect to the second elements such that the application of an impact force thereto will result in relative sliding movement caused either by displacement of the first elements or second elements, or stretching of the same under the influence of the impact force, or both. In a preferred embodiment, peripheral portions of the woven mat are fixedly secured to a frame which is in turn secured to the door body. The first elements are preferably offset from the second elements about 50 to 100 degrees. In one embodiment a plurality of third elements oriented generally in the same direction as the second elements are interwoven with the first elements. An associated method is provided.
