In a liquid filter of the reverse-flow flush-cleaning type, the present invention provides the improvement of mounting the pack of discs () intermediate to an assembly including a seat member () and screw-thread split-ring ().

Reverse flow spin-cleaning liquid filters

A pipe coupling for connecting a pipe to a flange associated with another pipe in a sealed manner. The pipe () is formed with circumferential groove (). The coupling comprises a gasket (), a mounting ring (), and a mounting flange (). The ring () is elastically expandable, e.g. by being split, and formed with projecting rib () adapted to fit into the groove () and hold the ring affixed to the pipe (). The mounting flange () is tightened against both the ring () and a counter-flange (), through matching cone-shaped surfaces ().

Pipe coupling

A liquid filtering device having a pack of cylindrical filter member discs ( ) with an arrangement for reversed, filter flushing flow cycles. An integrally formed filter core ( ) is provided comprising tubular nozzled conduits ( ) so that water under pressure within the conduits becomes discharged in jet forms to enable free rotation of the filter discs. One-way valve ( ) in the form of a funnel shaped rubber sleeve allows the flow of filtered water to the outlet port ( ) but impedes the flow of flushing water from the outlet port through the filter member ( ) in the direction of the inlet port ( ).
