A trailer stabilizing device for stabilizing a parked freight trailer, the trailer stabilizing device comprising a frame separate from the support frame of the parked freight trailer, the stabilizing device frame having mounted thereto wheels and a hitch, the stabilizing device including a repositionable jack.

Trailer stabilizer

A trailer stabilizer and signaling system comprising: (a) a repositionable freight trailer stabilizer comprising a frame having mounted thereto a wheel, the repositionable freight trailer stabilizer including a repositionable jack; and, (b) a stabilizer signaler operatively coupled to the trailer stabilizer, the stabilizer signaler including a deployable signal configured to confirm the trailer stabilizer is secured under a parked freight trailer.

A method of operating a freight trailer stabilizer comprising: (a) positioning a trailer stabilizer underneath a parked freight trailer at a loading dock so the trailer stabilizer is between the parked freight trailer and the ground, the trailer stabilizer including a first powered jack; and, (b) utilizing power from a portable vehicle to reposition the first powered jack between a raised position and a lowered position, wherein the raised position does not have the first powered jack in direct contact with the ground and wherein the lowered position does have the first powered jack in direct contact with the ground.

A method of selectively closing off a loading dock opening defined by a loading dock pit recessed within a floor of a building and a doorway into the building, the method comprising: (a) repositioning a pit seal panel having a substantially incompressible height and width to a barrier position where the pit seal panel closes off a rectangular area substantially spanning an entire vertical dimension and an entire widthwise dimension of the loading dock pit; and (b) lowering an overhead door to concurrently contact the pit seal panel and the floor of the building to close off the loading dock opening.

Repositionable pit seal

A repositionable loading dock pit seal panel comprising: (a) a repositionable pit seal panel including a substantially incompressible height and width sized to substantially span an entire vertical dimension and substantially span an entire widthwise dimension of a loading dock pit to substantially close off a cross-sectional area of the loading dock pit when the repositionable pit seal panel is in a barrier position, where the repositionable pit seal panel is repositionably mounted to at least one of an overhead door, a surface partially defining the loading dock pit, and a surface adjacent to the loading dock pit, where the repositionable pit seal panel is repositionable between the barrier position inhibiting horizontal use of a vertically stored dock leveler and a storage position allowing horizontal use of the vertically stored dock leveler, where the repositionable pit seal panel in the barrier position cooperates with the overhead door to close off a loading dock opening defined by a loading dock doorway and the cross-sectional area of the loading dock pit, and where the width of the repositionable pit seal panel is less than a width of a bottom section of the overhead door.
