A family of crystalline aluminosilicate zeolites designated UZM-8HS and derived from UZM-8 have been synthesized. The aluminum content of the UZM-8HS is lower than that of the starting UZM-8 thus changing its ion exchange capacity and acidity. These UZM-8HS are represented by the empirical formula:M1AlESiOand are prepared by treatments such as acid extraction and AFS treatments.

High silica zeolites: UZM-8HS

A process is disclosed for enhancing the production of light olefins using a catalyst with small pores. The catalyst comprises a molecular sieve having 10 membered rings with channels of limited length. The molecular sieve has a high silica to alumina ratio and has pores sized to limit production of aromatics in the cracking process.

Catalytic naphtha cracking catalyst and process

A process is disclosed for enhancing the production of light olefins using a catalyst with small pores. The catalyst comprises a layered zeolite material comprising an inner layer having pores of 8 or 10 membered rings and an outer layer having pores of 10 membered rings. The pores in the outer layer overlaying the pores in the inner layer. The zeolite has a silicon to aluminum atomic ratio of about 20 to about 200 and its surface acid sites external to the pores have been substantially neutralized.

A series of crystalline alumino-silicate zeolites identified as UZM-12 have been synthesized. These UZM-12 compositions have the ERI topology, a Si/Al&#x3e;5.5 and can be prepared as nanocrystallites having an average particle size of about 15 to about 50 nanometers and a spheroidal morphology. The UZM-12 composition can be treated to remove at least a fraction of the framework aluminum atoms thereby providing zeolites with a Si/Al&#x3e;5.75 and identified as UZM-12HS. Both the UZM-12 and UZM-12HS can catalyze various hydrocarbon conversion processes.

UZM-12 and UZM-12HS: crystalline aluminosilicate zeolitic compositions and processes for preparing and using the compositions

An aluminosilicate zeolite and substituted versions designated UZM-15 have been synthesized. These zeolites are prepared using an organoammonium cation as a template in which at least one organic group has at least 2 carbon atoms. An example of such a cation is diethyldimethylammonium cation. The template can optionally comprise other organoammonium cations, alkali metals and alkaline earth metals. These UZM-15 materials can be dealuminated by various processes to provide UZM-15HS compositions. Both the UZM-15 and UZM-15HS compositions are useful as catalysts or catalyst supports in various process such as the conversion of cyclic hydrocarbons to non-cyclic hydrocarbons and olefin oligomerization.

An improved process is disclosed for the isomerization of butenes and/or pentenes using a catalyst comprising a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve containing noncondensed silica. It is of particular interest to increase the proportion of olefins containing tertiary carbons in the product with low formation of undesirable by-products. Product olefins may be further processed to obtain ethers, which enjoy high current interest as components for reformulated gasoline.
