A transcutaneous electrode is disclosed having a sheet electrode of an electrically-conductive material with an electrically conductive layer affixed to a major portion of the lower surface thereof. A pad of electrically-conductive gel is applied to the lower surface of the sheet electrode over the electrically-conductive layer. An electrical conductor having an unsheathed end portion is secured to the upper surface of the sheet electrode by an electrically-conductive adhesive. A high dielectric cover overlays the end out portion of the electrical conductor, and is secured to the sheet electrode by the conductive adhesive. A method for making the electrode is also disclosed.

Method of making multifunction electrode

A multi-purpose golfer's tool including a retractable ball-mark repair blade and a cigar cutter, the housing for the tool having a central opening adapted to receive the end of a cigar. The ball-mark repair blade is actuated by a lever arm that is secured to the blade by means of, e.g., a hinge. The lever arm is adapted to present a smooth flush surface with the housing when the blade is retracted. The lever arm may also include a magnet so as to removably secure a magnetic/magnetizable ball marker to the tool.

Multi-purpose golfer's tool

A system for removably securing a cigar to a structural member of a golf cart that includes a first strap that carries a first metallic member and includes a fastener for cinching down the first strap so as to releasably secure it to the golf cart. A second strap is provided that has a second metallic member secured thereto and includes a fastener for cinching down the second strap to releasably secure it to the cigar. The fasteners for the first and second straps may be Velcro, a releasable adhesive, a buckle, or the like. At least one of the first or second metallic members is magnetized and the other is of a metal that is magnetizable, so that when the first strap is secured to the golf cart and the second strap is secured to the cigar, the cigar can be firmly, but removably, secured to the golf cart due to the attraction between the first and second metallic members. The first and second straps may also include support members for carrying the respective metallic members, and the first support member may include a projection shape to receive the second support member.

Golf cart cigar holder

A disposable transcutaneous electrode comprising, in a first embodiment, a sheet electrode member of electrically conductive carbon filled polymer, an electrically conductive metal/metal coating on at least a major portion of the lower side of the electrode member. A pad of electrically conductive gel having an upper surface underlies the metal/metal chloride coating on the lower side of the electrode member. A current distributing mat conductively adhered to the upper side of the sheet electrode member has a perimeter spaced inwardly of the perimeter of the electrode member and includes an open mesh metallized carbon fiber web having a carbon impregnated pressure sensitive adhesive composition on upper and lower sides of the web. The mat is configured to be electrically conductive along the surfaces of the mat and transverse to the surfaces of the mat. Defibrillating energy is conducted to or from the upper side of the mat by, e.g., a sheathed electrical conductor, a conductive post stud, a metal tab conductor or similar element. The sheet electrode member and the current distributing mat are configured to be X-ray transparent and capable of conducting energy at levels sufficient for defibrillation. In an alternate embodiment, the current distributing mat comprises a metal foil coated with a conductive polymer adhesive.

Multifunction electrode

A disposable transcutaneous electrode comprising, a sheet electrode member of electrically conductive carbon filled polymer, an electrically conductive metal/metal coating on at least a major portion of the lower side of the electrode member. A pad of electrically conductive gel having an upper surface underlies the metal/metal chloride coating on the lower side of the electrode member. A current distributing mat conductively adhered to the upper side of the sheet electrode member has a perimeter spaced inwardly of the perimeter of the electrode member and includes an open mesh metallized carbon fiber web having a carbon impregnated pressure sensitive adhesive composition on upper and lower sides of the web. The mat is configured to be electrically conductive along the surfaces of the mat and transverse to the surfaces of the mat. Defibrillating energy is conducted to or from the upper side of the mat by, e.g., a sheathed electrical conductor, a conductive post stud, a metal tab conductor or similar element. The sheet electrode member and the current distributing mat are configured to be X-ray transparent and capable of conducting energy at levels sufficient for defibrillation. In an alternate embodiment, the current distributing mat comprises a metal foil coated with a conductive polymer adhesive.

X-ray transmissive transcutaneous stimulating electrode

A disposable transcutaneous electrode comprising, a sheet electrode member of electrically conductive carbon filled polymer, an electrically conductive silver/silver chloride coating on at least a major portion of the lower side of the electrode member, a pad of electrically conductive gel having an upper surface underlying the silver/silver chloride coating on the lower side of the electrode member, a current distributing mat having a perimeter spaced inwardly of the perimeter of the electrode member, the mat including an open mesh metallized carbon fiber web having a carbon impregnated pressure sensitive adhesive composition on upper and lower sides of the web, the mat being configured to be electrically conductive along the surfaces of the mat and transverse to the surfaces of the mat and being conductively adhered to the upper side of the sheet electrode member, an electrical conductor sheathed in an electrical insulating material and having an unsheathed end portion conductively adhered to the mat for conducting defibrillating energy to or from the upper side of the mat, the sheet electrode member and the current distributing mat being configured to be X-ray transparent and capable of conducting energy at levels sufficient for defibrillation.

A medical temperature sensing probe including a temperature responsive device having electric contacts and insulated electric conductors having one end electrically connected to a respective one of the electric contacts. Each conductor comprises a carbon-fiber tow having low thermal conductivity and plated with an electrically conductive metal. The metal plated tows are X-ray translucent and have low thermal conductivity to minimize thermal conduction of heat to or from the temperature responsive device.

Medical temperature sensing probe

A biomedical monitoring electrode assembly including an X-ray translucent multi-element back electrode assembly adapted to be adhesively attached to the body of a patient, and a reference electrode adapted for positioning remote from the back electrode, preferably on the limb of a patient. An X-ray translucent lead wire assembly is attached to the back electrode assembly with two of the leads connected to the two electrodes of the back electrode assembly and another lead extending from the back electrode assembly to the remote reference electrode.

X-ray transparent monitoring electrode and method for making

A temperature probe cover for adhesively mounting a medical temperature probe on a body comprising a moisture barrier sheet having an aperture means adapted to allow at least a portion of the head of a temperature sensing probe to be inserted therethrough, a layer of skin compatible hydrogel adhesive on the side of the moisture barrier sheet to be oriented toward the body, a water absorbent sheet having a layer of water inactivatable pressure sensitive adhesive on the side oriented toward the moisture barrier sheet, a release sheet overlying at least a portion of said moisture barrier sheet and having a release agent facing said water inactivatable pressure sensitive adhesive to facilitate moving the water absorbent sheet away from the moisture barrier sheet when mounting a temperature probe between the water absorbent sheet and the second side of the moisture barrier sheet. The water inactivatable pressure sensitive adhesive, upon removal of the release sheet, is adapted to adhere to the moisture barrier sheet and to a temperature probe therebetween and the water inactivatable pressure sensitive adhesive being adapted to detackify when the water absorbent sheet is saturated with water to facilitate removal of the temperature probe.
