Systems, methods, and apparatuses for creating a modified atmosphere in a sealed enclosure. The systems, methods, and apparatuses may include an injector, a top sheet dispenser, a bottom sheet dispenser, and pallet wrapper. The top sheet, bottom sheet, and wrap sheet form the sealed enclosure. The injector may create a modified atmosphere in the sealed enclosure. The injector may include a stabilizing support bar and at least one nozzle formed at a right angle to the stabilizing support bar. The nozzle may be connected to a gas source for injecting at least one gas into the sealed enclosure. The nozzle may be connected to a vacuum source to remove air from the sealed enclosure. The system includes the use of modified atmosphere and various functional substances to sanitize, protect, preserve, or enhance perishable products.

Systems, methods, and apparatus for creating an enclosure, a regulated atmosphere, and functional treatments for perishable products

A system for controlling the temperature of a film before and/or during application, the system including: a heat source for heating a film; and stretch rollers; wherein the heat source heats the film from an ambient temperature to a temperature from about 2° C. to about 40° C. above the ambient temperature, wherein the film is heated prior to or simultaneous to being stretched by the stretch rollers, and wherein the ambient temperature is below 15° C. A system for improving the application of film by transfer of electrostatic charge is also described. The preheating system and/or electrostatic charge system may be used to enhance binding and sealing properties of stretch films used for wrapping palletized products in a reduced temperature environment. Other embodiments of the preheating film system and electrostatic charge system, and methods for their use, are described herein.

A system for supercooling a product is provided, the system comprising: a chamber containing a supercooling medium; and disruptors that emit sound waves, ultrasound waves, and/or electromagnetic waves in the chamber; wherein during a cooling cycle the chamber reaches a cooling temperature below 0&#xb0; C. and during a warming cycle the chamber reaches a warming temperature greater than the cooling temperature. The supercooling system may be used to supercool perishable products below freezing to extend shelf life and freshness of the products. Other embodiments of the supercooling system, and methods for its use, are described herein.

A method for introducing at least one substance into a sealed enclosure holding at least one product. At least one conduit may be provided through which one of gas or fluid may flow into or out of the sealed enclosure. Air may be evacuated from the sealed enclosure through the at least one conduit to create a predetermined pressure within the sealed enclosure and a predetermined quantity of the at least one substance may be injected into the sealed enclosure through the at least one conduit.
