Rugged RFID tags

One or more frame slots to each transceiver are allocated for communication within each message cycle. The number of frame slots allocated can be dynamically adjusted to accommodate variable traffic loads per transceiver, and an offset of the frame slots within the message cycle is preferably predefined to provide a uniform distribution among the transceivers. The design of the transceiver is independent of the particular application, having at least one programmable parameter that controls the number of frame slots allocated within the message cycle. By controlling the number of frame slots allocated to a transceiver, the amount of inactive time, and hence battery life, can be controlled. When a conflict occurs among multiple transceivers having pending messages at the same frame slot, the allocation of the frame slot to a transceiver is based at least in part on the resultant lag time to each transceiver.

Time slot synchronized, flexible bandwidth communication system

Waveguide nonlinear signal processors include transmission lines defined on a substrate. A plurality of varactors or pairs of varactors are situated along the transmission line and are in communication with a signal conductor of the transmission line and one or more control conductors. A processor controller is configured to provide a control signal to the one or more control conductors to select operational characteristics of the varactors or pairs of varactors. In some examples, the varactors are diodes and a control signal is provided to select a diode current-voltage characteristic in order to limit or clip an input signal to positive and/or negative amplitudes. Alternatively, a control signal is configured to provide a selected spectral transmission bandwidth or propagation delay by selecting a varactor capacitance-voltage characteristic.

Transmission line voltage controlled nonlinear signal processors

An apparatus and method are disclosed for generating a three-dimension image of an object or target. The apparatus is comprised of a photon source for emitting a photon at a target. The emitted photons are received by a photon receiver for receiving the photon when reflected from the target. The photon receiver determines a reflection time of the photon and further determines an arrival position of the photon on the photon receiver. An analyzer is communicatively coupled to the photon receiver, wherein the analyzer generates a three-dimensional image of the object based upon the reflection time and the arrival position.
