Techniques for establishing a data connection are described. In an example, a computer system receives, from a second device of a computer network, first data associated with a first device and second data associated with the second device. The first device is not connected to the computer network. The computer system determines third data generated by one or more devices other than the first device and the second device and associated with at least one of: the first device, the second device, a user account, or the computer network. The computer system generates, based on the first data, the second data, and the third data, a confidence score indicating a likelihood of a user authorization to connect the first device to the computer network. The computer system sends, to the second device based on the confidence score, instructions associated with connecting the first device to the computer network.

Confidence based network provisioning of devices

Systems and methods described herein provide for novel configuration features for setting up a user device automatically to connect to a network and register the user device to a user account. A mapping of user devices to cryptographic keys for the user devices may be maintained by a computer system. The computer system may receive information that specifies network information and user account information for a particular user device. A mapping of the network information and user account information to the particular user device may be generated. A machine-readable code that includes the network information for connecting the particular user device to the network and a token that includes credentials for the user account information may be generated and transmitted to a assistant configuration device.

Systems and methods for automatically configuring computer devices

Techniques for a server-based reconnection of disconnected devices in a network are described. In an example, a computer system receives, from a second device, first data of a first device. The first data indicates that the first device has disconnected from the network due a change in the password of the network. The computer system determines that the first device is authorized to connect to the network. Based on the first device being authorized, the computer system transmits a request for a token. The computer system compares the token to a token stored by the computer system. In response to the tokens matching, the computer system transmits second data to the first device via the second device. The second data includes an updated password of the network. The first device uses the second data to reestablish a connection with the network.

Process for managing reconnections of devices in a network

Techniques for a server-based association of a device with a user account are described. In an example, a computer system receives, from a second device, first data of a first device. The first data indicates a request for a first association between the first device and a user account. The computer system determines that the first data is valid based on second data associated with the first device. Based on the first data being valid, the computer system sends, to the second device, third data to initiate a user authentication. The computer system then receives, from the second device, a user identifier based on the user authentication and determines that a second association between the user identifier and the user account already exists. The computer system causes the first association between the first device and the user account to be generated based on the second association.

Server-based association of a user device with a user account

Techniques for connecting computing devices to a network are described. For example, a computer system receives, from a second device that is associated with an account and connected to a data network, first data indicating an identifier of a first device. The computer system determines that the identifier is unassociated with accounts that include the account. The computer system determines second data associated with the identifier, access to the account, or a device setup request. The computer system determines that the first device is to be associated with the account. The computer system sends, to a third device, third data that causes the third device to output a confirmation request about setting up the first device and receives, from the third device, fourth data indicating a response to the confirmation request. The computer system associates the first device with the account based on the fourth data.
