An electrical connector includes a terminal module including a base, a mating tongue, a row of first terminals, a row of second terminals and a shielding plate. Terminals comprise contacting portions, middle portions and leg portions. Each row of terminals comprises three pairs of differential signal terminals, and grounding terminals and power terminals. The shielding plate defines a first row of openings corresponding to the contacting portions, a second row of openings and third row of openings both corresponding to the middle portion. The first row of openings are aligned with the contacting portions of the first and second terminals in a vertical direction and the second row of openings are at least aligned with gaps between every two adjacent terminals while the shielding plate defines no opening corresponding to the middle portions of the three pair of differential signal terminals so as improve shielding performance.

Electrical connector with improved shielding plate

An electrical connector mounted on a PCB includes: an housing comprising a base, a mating tongue and a mounting portion, each surface of the mating tongue defining twelve terminal positions (P) through (P); two rows of terminals, each terminal including a mating portion, a leg portion and a middle portion connecting with the mating portion and the leg portion, each leg portion defining a soldering pad. Each row of terminals include grounding terminals in terminal positions (P, P) power terminals in terminal positions (P, P), and there are no terminals set in terminal positions (P, P, P, P). The soldering pads of the two rows of terminals are arranged in one row and at least two grounding terminals or two power terminals aligned with each other in a vertical direction are located side by side so as to share a same pad defined on the PCB.

Electrical connector with lower profile

An electrical connector includes a terminal module including an insulating housing, a plurality of terminals and a shielding plate. The insulating housing defines a base and a mating tongue extending from the base, the mating tongue defines opposite mating surfaces, a front face and opposite side faces connecting with the mating surfaces and the front face. The terminals include contacting sections exposed upon the mating surfaces and leg sections out of the base. The shielding plate is embedded in the insulating housing and includes a main portion disposed between the mating surfaces and two thickened side portions, the side portions enclose opposite side faces of the mating tongue and each provides a side latch at an outer side face thereof. The side portions extend forward to the front face of the mating tongue and rearward to the base.

A plug connector includes an insulating body defining a mating cavity opening forwardly and a cable-load portion, a row of upper terminals, a row of lower terminals and a special terminal. The special terminal includes a contacting piece and a soldering piece discrete from each other. The contacting piece unitarily includes a contacting portion located at the upper inside of the mating cavity and an upper connecting portion, and the soldering piece unitarily includes a soldering leg exposed upon the lower loading face of the cable-loading portion and a lower connecting portion extending forward from the soldering leg. The upper connecting portion and the lower connecting portion electrically connect to each other so as to establish an electrical connection of the special terminal.

Plug connector with two-section special terminals

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing having a tongue portion with opposite upper and lower surfaces, a plurality of upper terminals and a plurality of lower terminals with contacting sections exposed upon the corresponding upper surface and lower surface, respectively. A metallic shielding plate located between upper terminals and the lower terminals. The tongue portion forms a first type hole in which the upper power terminal mechanically and electrically connects to the lower power terminal, and a second type hole in which either the upper grounding terminal mechanically and electrically connects to an upper face of the shielding plate or the lower grounding terminal mechanically and electrically connects to the lower face of the shielding plate.

Electrical connector and method making the same

An electrical connector assembly is used for connecting to a chip module. The electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector and a dust-proof cover. The electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of terminals and a shell covering the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a second cavity for receiving the chip module. The shell defines an opening corresponding to the second cavity. The dust-proof cover includes a dust-proof portion covering the opening and a pair of inclined pushing portions protruding from the dust-proof portion to the second cavity. The dust-proof cover has a plurality of supporting portions for supporting the dust-proof portion. The supporting portions separate from the shell when the inclined pushing portion is pushed by the chip module, and the dust-proof cover separates from the electrical connector.

Dust-proof cover and electrical connector assembly using the same

An electrical connector assembly includes a housing comprising a rear base and a mating tongue extending forward from the base; a row of upper terminals and a row of lower terminals retained on the housing, each terminal including a contacting section exposed to mating tongue and a pin leg section from the base, and the contacting sections of the upper and lower terminals being aligned with each in a vertical direction. The contacting sections of each row terminals are arranged in different central pitch, the pin leg sections of the upper and lower terminals are aligned with each in a front and back direction and the pin leg sections of each row are arranged with a same central pitch.

Flippable electrical connector

An electrical connector comprising a first terminal assembly and a second terminal assembly which are formed on a same metal material. The first and the second terminal assemblies respectively comprise a plurality of first and second conductive terminals. The plurality of first and second conductive terminals respectively connect with each other by a first contact carrier and a second contact carrier which are connected by a third contact carrier formed on the metal material. Bending the third contact carrier at 180 degrees such that the first and the second terminal assemblies are arranged in parallel and up-and-down to each other. Providing an insulating material injecting molding on the first and the second terminal assemblies to form an insulating housing. Cutting and dislodging the first, the second and the third contact carriers to forming the electrical connector. The electrical connector is simple in manufacture and low in production cost.

Electrical connector and method of manufacturing the same

A plug connector includes a connector body defining a front mating cavity with a first inner side and a second inner side opposite to the first inner side, and a rear cable supporting platform with a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first inner side and a plurality of terminals. The terminals include two rows of contacting sections arranged along the first and second inner sides of the mating cavity and soldering legs extending to the platform to be welded to a cable. The soldering legs are arranged in one row and exposing to the first surface of the platform while the second surface of the platform has no soldering legs to be welded to the cable.

A tool for catching an IC package comprises a main body, a plurality of operation arms and a plurality of clamping arms. The main body has a base and a plurality of lateral portions rotating relative to the base. The operation arms each extends upwardly from a top portion of a corresponding lateral portion. The clamping arms each extends downwardly from a lateral portion and is formed with a clasping portion at a free end thereof, the clasping portion has a latching slot. The operation arms bring the lateral portions to rotate inwardly and open the clamping arms.

Tool for catching IC package

An electrical socket used for an electronic package with a plurality of pins, includes a base defining a number of passageways in a vertical direction. A number of contacts are received in the passageways. A cover is slidably mounted upon the base and defines a plurality of holes corresponding to the passageways. A cam is used for driving the cover horizontally moved along the base between an open position and a closed position. Wherein, the pins moves with regard to the contact in a linear return path when the electrical socket moved from the open position to the closed position or from the closed position to the open position.

A socket connector includes a socket body, a sliding plate movably mounted upon the socket body, a plurality contacts received in the socket body and the sliding plate, and an actuating mechanism. The actuating mechanism includes a lid moving upwardly and downwardly between a first position away from the socket body and a second position close to the socket body, and a lever having one mating bar with at least a first tab and a second tab to be pressed by the lid so as to push the sliding plate moving.

A burn-in socket includes a base, a number of contacts received in the base, and a protecting device. The base has a first projection and a second projection. The protecting device is assembled to the base and moves from a first position to a second position relative to the base. The protecting device includes a planar bottom plate and a pair of spring arms extending upwardly from opposite sides of the bottom plate. Each spring arm has a first stopper for engaging with the first projection at the first position, and a second stopper for engaging with the second projection at the second position.
