An electrical connector and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. A connecting member is embedded in an insulating body between a side edge of the insulating body and an outer side of a first terminal or a last terminal in a first terminal group, and a gap exists between the connecting member and the first terminal or the last terminal. In other words, the connecting member is not in contact with the first terminal or the last terminal adjacent to the connecting member. Thus, the width of the first terminal or the last terminal is not increased, ensuring the high-frequency transmission rate of the first terminal group, and thereby forming an electrical connector which is capable of facilitating machining without affecting the transmission quality of the terminals, and having a stable structure and high-frequency transmission performance.

Electrical connector and method of manufacturing the same

An electrical connector includes: an insulating block, provided with at least one adjusting groove; and a plurality of terminals, fixed to the insulating block and arranged in at least one row. The terminals include at least one pair of differential signal terminals and at least two ground terminals. Each of two opposite sides of the pair of differential signal terminals is provided with a corresponding one of the ground terminals. The adjusting groove is provided between only one of the two opposite sides of the pair of differential signal terminals and the corresponding one of the ground terminals, such that electric charges and electric fields between the pair of differential signal terminals and the ground terminals at the two sides are not distributed uniformly, thus reducing the ground mode resonance of the ground terminals to the differential signal terminals, and improving the high frequency performance of the electrical connector.

Electrical connector improving high frequency characteristics

An electrical connector includes: an insulating body provided with at least one groove, where at least one protruding block is provided in the groove; and at least one pair of signal terminals adjacently provided, accommodated in the insulating body and exposed in the groove. The pair of signal terminals includes a long signal terminal and a short signal terminal. Each of the long signal terminal and the short signal terminal has a first section and a second section bending and extending from one end of the first section. A length of the long signal terminal is greater than a length of the short signal terminal. An area of the short signal terminal covered by the protruding block is larger than an area of the long signal terminal covered by the protruding block, which is equivalent to setting an obstruction for the short signal terminal.

Electrical connector with different length signal terminals having correction features for delayed skew

An electrical connector assembly is mated with a mating component. The electrical connector assembly includes a circuit board and a connector electrically connected to the circuit board. The connector includes an insulating body and a plurality of terminals. The terminals are fixed to the insulating body and include at least two ground terminals. Each of the ground terminals includes a contact section extending forward and a conducting section extending backward. The contact sections of the ground terminals are connected to each other through a first connecting sheet, and the conducting sections of the ground terminals are fixed to the circuit board and are electrically connected to each other through a path on the circuit board. Thus, multiple joint grounding paths are provided for the ground terminals, manufacturing is easy, and a high frequency effect can be remarkably improved.

Electrical connector assembly

An electrical connector is provided to be mated with a mating component. The electrical connector includes: a main body extending along a transverse direction; multiple terminals fixed to the main body and arranged along the transverse direction; and at least one insulating member connected with the main body and provided above the terminals. When the mating component is mated with the electrical connector, the terminals are electrically connected with the mating component, and each insulating member is in contact with at least one corresponding terminal, such that the insulating member move in a vertical direction and a front-rear direction simultaneously, which is equivalent to the case where a section of each terminal exposed from the main body is turned to be covered by the insulating member instead of being exposed in air.

Electrical connector improving high-frequency characteristics

An electrical connector includes a terminal module, which includes an insulating block and multiple first terminals retained at the insulating block. Each first terminal has a first contact portion exposed from a bottom surface of the insulating block. A top surface or the bottom surface of the insulating block is concavely provided with at least one groove, each of the at least one groove located between two adjacent first terminals. The groove runs forward through a front end surface of the insulating block and extends backward beyond a rear end of the first contact portion. A second terminal is located on the insulating block. The second terminal has a second contact portion, which is exposed from the top surface of the insulating block. An insulating body is formed outside the terminal module and the second terminal by injection-molding.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector assembly includes an insulating body provided with an accommodating cavity, a metal member retained to the outside of the insulating body, and a first connector disposed in the accommodating cavity. The accommodating cavity has two opposite side walls. The metal member has two side plates and two urging portions respectively connected to the two side plates. The urging portions are disposed in the accommodating cavity. Each of the side walls is disposed between the corresponding urging portion and the corresponding side plate. The first connector has a first metal casing. Each of the urging portions urges the first metal casing, and each of the urging portions is located between the first metal casing and the corresponding side wall.

Electrical connector assembly having a metal urging member

An electrical connector for connecting a mating connector includes a main body having a terminal slot, a tongue extending from the main body, and first and second terminals. The terminal slot extends to a mating surface of the tongue. The first terminal has a first extending portion received in the terminal slot and a first contacting portion extending from the first extending portion. The second terminal has a second extending portion received in the terminal slot and a second contacting portion extending toward the mating surface and bending backward. The second extending portion is away from the mating surface relative to the first extending portion. The first and second contacting portions expose out of the mating surface and are arranged front and back. When the electrical connector connects the mating connector, the first and second terminals contact the mating connector to form an electrical circuit.

An electrical connector includes a first body, multiple first conducting terminals and multiple second conducting terminals received in the first body, a first fixing block, and a second fixing block. Each first conducting terminal has a first extending portion, and a first welding portion extending downward from the first extending portion. Each second conducting terminal has a second extending portion, and a second welding portion extending downward from the second extending portion. The first extending portions and the second extending portions are disposed in a front and back manner. The first extending portions are insert injection molded at the first fixing block. The second extending portions are insert injection molded at the second fixing block. The first fixing block and the second fixing block cooperatively position the first welding portions and the second welding portions. A stacked electrical connector formed by two or more of the electrical connectors.
