Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer-readable device embodiments for automatically correcting erroneous license plate numbers generated by automatic license plate recognition. An embodiment operates by selecting a set of adjacent license plate recognition (LPR) stations comprising a first LPR station, a second LPR station, and a third LPR station, accessing an error pattern probability matrix for at least the third recognized license plate number accessed in relation to at least one of the first recognized license plate number or the second recognized license plate number differing from the third recognized license plate number, and determining a corrected license plate number based on the error pattern probability matrix. In some embodiments, LPR correction may be accurately realized even when an erroneous license plate numbers are missing characters, such as by visual obstruction from an LPR camera or sensor, or has no characters in common with the real license plate number.

Automatic detection and correction of license plate misidentification

Described herein is a framework for optimal demand-based allocation. In accordance with one aspect of the framework, trip data is extracted from vehicle operation data received from one or more vehicle data devices servicing a region of interest. Vehicle demands for multiple tiles of the region of interest and mutual travel times between neighboring tiles are estimated based at least in part on the trip data. A set of candidate tiles for allocating vehicle stations may then be determined by minimizing total travel time based on the mutual travel times and vehicle demands.

Optimal demand-based allocation

Described herein is a framework to facilitate vehicle position planning. In accordance with one aspect of the framework, transition information is determined based on the vehicle data, wherein the transition information includes pairs of starting and ending road segments and corresponding passenger states. Short-term demand for vehicles may be calculated based on the transition information and the historical transactional records. The short-term demand may then be used to generate a cruising recommendation.

Vehicle position planning

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for automatically detecting cloned vehicle identifiers. An embodiment operates by determining legitimate trajectory information and illegitimate trajectory information corresponding to vehicular travel in a geographic area, and training a decision model to detect a cloned vehicle identifier based on the legitimate trajectory information and the illegitimate trajectory information. Furthermore, the embodiment identifies vehicles potentially using a cloned vehicle identifier based on the decision model and common driving patterns within the geographic area. In some embodiments, enforcement agents are notified of the vehicles potentially using a cloned vehicle identifier.

Automatic identification of cloned vehicle identifiers

Described herein is a descriptive framework to facilitate error detection in recognition data. In accordance with one aspect of the framework, at least one erroneous record is detected in a first set of recognition data. The framework may determine a correction of a first recognized identifier in the erroneous record by searching a second set of recognition data for a matching record with a second recognized identifier substantially similar to the first recognized identifier. A report may then be generated to present the detected erroneous record and the determined correction.

Error detection in recognition data

Described herein is a framework to monitor traffic congestion. In accordance with one aspect of the framework, the framework receives vehicle data from vehicle data sources located in a region of interest. The framework may determine a sample size and an average speed for an edge of the region of interest based on the vehicle data. Congestion probability may then be determined based on the sample size and average speed. A report may be presented based on the congestion probability.

Monitoring traffic congestion

A framework for origin-destination (OD) analysis of vehicle trajectory data is described herein. In accordance with one aspect, a vehicle trajectory dataset is provided to an OD analyzer. The vehicle trajectory dataset includes vehicle trajectory data collected from a sensor network having a plurality of sensor stations for detecting vehicles. The sensor stations of the sensor network are distributed in a geographical area of interest, where the vehicle trajectory data include trajectories of vehicles captured by the sensor network. The vehicle trajectory dataset may be analyzed by the OD analyzer to determine an origin and a destination of trips for trajectories of the vehicles in the vehicle trajectory dataset. The analysis includes calculating a probability distribution of travel time between sensor pairs of the sensor network of a number of (dropped-out) intermediate stations, and determining a stop probability between a station pair in the trajectories of the vehicles, where a stop is a destination of a previous trip and an origin of a next trip in the trajectories.

A method and system to obtain taxi location data for a plurality of taxis located in a geographic region; obtain street data for a plurality of streets operating in the geographic region, the street data defining a location of the plurality of streets; store the taxi location data and the street data in an in-memory database management system; generate a rating for the plurality of streets associated with at least one currently active taxi, the rating providing an indication of a likelihood the at least one currently active taxi is available for a fare; and provide an output of the rating.
