Systems and methods include scale control in oilfield produced waters. Thermodynamic data indicative of surface conditions and subterranean conditions of a subterranean region including a well is received, from probes. An acidity of a produced water stream to be disposed in the well is received from a pH meter. A supersaturation degree of the produced water stream to be disposed in the well is determined, by using the thermodynamic data. An amount of carbon dioxide to be injected in the produced water stream to neutralize a scaling risk is determined, by the one or more processors, by using the supersaturation degree and the acidity. An injection of the amount of the carbon dioxide in the produced water stream is triggered to neutralize the scaling risk.

Scale control in oilfield produced waters

A method and system of providing seawater into a subterranean formation, including adding chloride salt having a metal cation to the seawater (having sulfate), precipitating sulfate salt (of the metal cation and sulfate), removing the sulfate salt as precipitated to give treated seawater having less sulfate than the seawater, and injecting the treated seawater into the subterranean formation.

A method and system of treatment with scale inhibitor, including adding scale inhibitor to source water to give injection water, conveying the injection water in a surface conduit to an injection well for injection into an oil reservoir in a subterranean formation, pumping the injection water through a wellbore of the injection well into the oil reservoir, obtaining a sample of the injection water (including suspended solids), and analyzing the suspended solids.

Monitoring scale inhibitor treatment

A system and method are provided for adding chemicals to a produced fluid in a wellbore. An exemplary system includes a gauge hanger and a permeable container. The permeable container includes a solid cylindrical body, end caps placed at each end of the solid cylindrical body, and holes disposed proximate to each end of the permeable container, wherein the holes allow the produced fluid to flow through the permeable container from one end of the permeable container to the opposite end of the permeable container. The system further includes a well treatment chemical disposed in the permeable container.

Method and device for downhole treating gas wells

Systems and methods for generating and using a water filtration media containing date seed powder are provided. The method of generating the date seed powder for use in a water treatment system includes drying the date seeds, cleaning and removing the date seed envelopes, grinding the date seeds, and segregating the date seed powder according to a predetermined particle size. The method of using the date seed powder to treat water includes using a treatment tank with a date seed media bed layer, introducing water, and filtering suspended solids from the water stream using the date seed media bed layer. The system utilizing the date seed media bed layer includes a treatment tank, a date seed media bed layer, water inlets and outlets, backwashing equipment, and media support screens.

Date seed powder for water filtration treatment

A method of treating a subterranean formation to protect against solid deposition and corrosion attack includes flowing a pre-flush fluid to a specified downhole location within the subterranean formation. A main treatment fluid is flowed to the specified downhole location. The main treatment fluid includes a scale inhibitor configured to inhibit formation of scale within the subterranean formation. At a subsurface level, an overflush foam is generated. The overflush foam includes an aqueous fluid and a gas. The overflush foam is shear thinning and non-Newtonian. The overflush foam is flowed to the specified downhole location.

Foamed squeeze treatment in wells

A downhole injection system in selective communication with a wellhead assembly and a wellbore, the downhole injection system including a pumping chamber in selective communication with the wellhead assembly, the pumping chamber defining a wellhead pressure portion defining a wellhead pressure inlet in selective communication with the wellhead assembly and a wellhead pressure outlet in selective communication with the wellhead assembly, where the wellhead pressure portion is maintained at a wellhead pressure, and a chemical portion in selective communication with the wellbore, and a movable plate positioned within the pumping chamber, where the chemical portion is separated from the wellhead pressure portion by the movable plate.

Self-powered downhole injection systems and methods for operating the same

A composition for inhibiting corrosion in gas wells includes a pyrazolopyridine derivative. The pyrazolopyridine derivative includes a pyridyl moiety, a first pyrazole moiety, a second pyrazole moiety, and a phenyl moiety. The first pyrazole moiety is bound to the pyridyl moiety. The second pyrazole moiety is bound to the pyridyl moiety. The phenyl moiety is bound to the pyridyl moiety. The composition can be flowed into a wellbore formed in a subterranean formation, thereby inhibiting corrosion in the wellbore.

Inhibiting corrosion in gas wells

Methods and systems to reduce scale formation

A method and system for corrosion control and scale control in water supply for injection, including specifying a corrosion inhibitor for squeeze treatment of a water supply well, specifying a scale inhibitor that can form a complex with the corrosion inhibitor, pumping the corrosion inhibitor and the scale inhibitor through a wellbore of the water supply well into an aquifer in a subterranean formation, forming the complex of the corrosion inhibitor and the scale inhibitor, and pumping water from the water supply well to an injection well for injection, the water including the scale inhibitor released from the complex in the aquifer and the corrosion inhibitor released from the complex in the aquifer.

Well corrosion control

Methods for reducing scale deposition are provided. An exemplary method for reducing scale in an oilfield facility includes contacting a metallic surface with a production fluid including a film-forming surfactant selected from imidazolines, imidazolidines, amidoamines, isoxazolidines, fatty amines, &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated aldehydes, salts thereof, and combinations thereof, the production fluid including the film-forming surfactant in a concentration of at least about 200 ppm.

Scale control in production fluids

A composition for inhibiting corrosion in hydrocarbon wells includes a pyranopyrazole derivative. The pyranopyrazole derivative includes a pyrazole moiety, a dihydropyran moiety, and a phenyl moiety. The dihydropyran moiety is bound to the pyrazole moiety. The phenyl moiety is bound to the dihydropyran moiety. The composition can be flowed into a wellbore formed in a subterranean formation, thereby inhibiting corrosion in the wellbore.

A polymeric scale inhibitor composition and a method for inhibiting metal sulfide scale formation in a well are provided. The composition includes 80-82 mol % of a first monomeric unit, where the first monomeric unit is 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS). The composition also includes 2-18 mol % of a second monomeric unit selected from N-vinyl formamide, N-vinyl pyrrolidone, and diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride. The composition further includes 2-18 mol % of a third monomeric unit selected from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, esters of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid with an alcohol having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and carboxyethyl acrylate. The polymeric scale inhibitors show superior adsorption characteristics on rocks and their subsequent release behavior allows for scale inhibition over extended time periods respectively at a significant volume of coreflood fluids. They are especially suited for downhole application via field scale squeeze treatments.
