The present invention provides a battery control system for controlling a battery pack that is formed by a plurality of battery cells. The battery control system comprises: a detecting circuit for detecting at least one operation parameter of the battery pack; an activating circuit, which receives the at least one operation parameter from the detecting circuit, for generating a first control signal when the detected at least one operation parameter exceeds or is below at least one critical-level threshold; a supervision unit, which receives the at least one operation parameter from the detecting circuit, for managing the battery pack and generating a second control signal when the at least one operational parameter exceeds or below at least one cap-level threshold; a switching circuit, which receives the first control signal from the activating circuit and/or the second control signal from the supervision unit, for connecting the battery pack to and disconnecting the battery pack from an power output in response to the first control signal and/or the second control signal.

Scalable modular design of a 48-volt li-ion battery management system

The present invention provides a battery that includes a plurality of serially connected battery cells. The battery includes an upper housing and a lower housing. The battery comprises: a wire harness assembly; a middle housing that includes a plurality of cell chambers for accommodating the top sections of the plurality of serially connected battery cells. The lower housing includes a plurality of cell chambers for accommodating the bottom sections of the plurality of serially connected battery cells; and the middle housing has a top surface for installing the wire harness assembly () and the plurality of cell chambers beneath the top surface () of the middle housing.

Modular design of a 48-volt li-ion battery for ease of assembly and disassembly

A method is provided for controlling a low speed operation of a vehicle. A speed activation switch is activated. A target vehicle speed is calculated in response to an accelerator pedal demand as determined by an accelerator pedal position where each respective accelerator pedal position is associated with a respective predetermined target vehicle speed. A vehicle turning geometry is determined in response to a steering wheel angle input. A target wheel speed of each of a plurality of vehicle wheels is calculated as a function of the target vehicle speed and turning geometry. An actual wheel speed of each wheel is measured. A net torque is determined in response to the target wheel speeds and actual wheel speeds. An engine output torque and a braking torque are determined in response to the net torque. The engine output torque and the total vehicle braking torque are controlled for cooperatively maintaining the target vehicle speed.

Constant speed control system

A turn control system is provided having four wheels and a steering wheel that controls the vehicle steering. A steering wheel angle sensor senses an angle of rotation of the steering wheel. An acceleration sensing device senses an acceleration demand. A wheel speed sensing device senses a wheel speed for each of the four wheels. A turn control activation switch enables the turn control system and shifts a vehicle transmission to one of a low or reverse operating gear. A brake control module calculates a target vehicle speed, a vehicle turning geometry, and target wheel speeds. A braking torque command signal is generated for modulating the brake torque. An engine torque command signal is generated for modulating an engine torque for producing the target vehicle speed. A respective additional braking torque is applied to at least one of the wheels for reducing the vehicle turning radius while maintaining the vehicle target speed.
