The present disclosure discloses a radiation inspection system and a radiation inspection method. The radiation inspection system comprises a radiation source and a beam modulating device. The beam modulating device comprises a first collimating structure disposed at a beam exit side of the radiation source and a second collimating structure disposed at a beam exit side of the first collimating structure. The second collimating structure is movable relative to the first collimating structure to change a relative position of the first collimating port of the first collimating structure with the second collimating port of the second collimating structure, and the beam modulating device is shifted between a first operational state in which the beam modulating device modulates an initial beam into a fan beam, and a second operational state in which the beam modulating device modulates the initial beam into a pencil beam variable in position.

Radiation inspection system and radiation inspection method

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a nuclide identification method, a nuclide identification system, and a photoneutron emitter. The photoneutron emitter comprises: a pulsed electron accelerator configured for emitting electrons; and a photoneutron converting target configured to receive the electrons emitted by the pulsed electron accelerator and convert the electrons into photoneutrons. The photoneutron converting target has a volume of about 100 to about 8000 cm, of about 100 to about 2500 cm, or of about 785 cm. These embodiments of the present invention can improve an accuracy of identification of a nuclide, and provide a practical photoneutron emitter, method and system for identifying a nuclide. The present invention provides a fast-neutron detector, comprising: a plastic scintillator array which includes at least one plastic scintillator unit, wherein sidewall surfaces of each plastic scintillator unit are covered or coated with a neutron-sensitive coating film. The fast-neutron detector based on such film-coated plastic scintillators according to the present invention advantageously addresses the mutual competition problem between a moderated volume and a measured volume in the prior art and can obtain a higher fast-neutron detecting efficiency.

The present invention provides a cellular thermal neutron detector, comprising: a cellular structure comprised of one or more hollow regular hexagonal prism-shaped cellular units, wherein a neutron absorbing material is coated on an inner side of a pipe wall of each of the cellular units. Since the neutron-sensitive cellular structure is employed, the present invention can perform thermal neutron detection without using the scarce nuclide 3He, and effectively reduce the manufacture costs of the thermal neutron detector. Further, the present invention has characteristics such as a reduced or eliminated neutron detecting dead zone.

A method for imaging an object by means of photoneutron transmission is provided. The method determines the position of the photoneutron rays based on the position of a neutron collimator, to overcome the problem of incapability of imaging due to loss of position information of the photoneutrons during moderation thereof. The present invention provides a boron-containing gas film fast-neutron detector. The fast-neutron detector comprises a package piece having a hollow cavity; a plastic scintillator array provided in the cavity and comprising a plurality of plastic scintillator units, a gap existing between adjacent plastic scintillator units; and a boron-containing gas filled into and gas-tightly sealed in the hollow cavity, the boron-containing gas forming a boron-containing gas film in the gap between the adjacent plastic scintillator units. The fast-neutron detector of the present invention completely does not require use of scarce and expensiveHe gas, nor needs a complicated boron film coating process, improves credibility of signal coincidence, and is adapted for measurement of environment background neutrons and extensively adapted for detection of radioactive substance at sites such as customs ports, harbors and the like.

Boron-containing gas film fast-neutron detector

The present invention discloses an article inspection device, comprising: a x-ray machine, a collimation unit, a transmission detector array and at least one scattering detector array. Each of the at least one scattering detector array comprising a plurality of same scattering detector modules arranged in a matrix of i-rows and j-columns. A transmission cross section of the article transmitted by the x-rays is divided into a plurality of same sub-regions arranged in a matrix of i-rows and j-columns. The plurality of scattering detector modules arranged in i-rows and i-columns correspond to the plurality of sub-regions arranged in i-rows and j-columns one by one for detecting pair production effect annihilation photons and Compton-effect scattering photons from the respective sub-regions. Obtaining atomic numbers of the respective sub-regions based on a ratio of the pair production effect annihilation photon count to the Compton-effect scattering photon count, so as to form a three-dimensional image of the article. In addition, the present invention further discloses an article inspection method.
